We evaluate risk factors though surveying the site and communicating with the people that require access to these areas.
We provide a full Risk Analysis Audit Report with solutions to each and every issue, to ensure that building owners and managers can have peace of mind regarding the safety and compliance of the premises under their control.
Why should I have my roof access system certified?
WHS legislation and Australian Standards require Fall Arrest Equipment to be inspected & certified by a suitably competent person prior to first use and then on a regular basis. This inspection and certification is to ensure the equipment is correctly installed in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. It is also important to ensure the structure to which an anchor is attached is adequate for the imposed loads, & has not been modified and/or deteriorated in any way that affects the structural integrity of systems.
How often should I have this done?
Australian Standards require that inspection intervals be in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. As a general rule these recommended intervals are as follows:
Fall Arrest Anchors – Annually
Horizontal Lifelines – Annually
In the absence of any recommendation the interval shall be annually
How we can help you?
All inspections are carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 1891-2009 Part 4 Section 9. In the case of fixed Anchorages and Static lines covered by Part 9-3-3, the inspection /recertification includes, but is not limited to the following:
The inspection interval for anchorages shall be every 12 months.
Anchorages shall be visually inspected for signs of deterioration which might make them unserviceable together with any other requirements contained in manufacturer’s instructions.
The parent structure shall also be visually inspected for modifications or deterioration which might lead to loss of anchorage. Anchors such as friction or glued in anchorages shall be proof tested in accordance with Clause 3.1.2 (g) as part of each inspection
