๐ฟ How Karma Shapes Death and Rebirth in Hinduism
In Hindu philosophy, karma isn't just about cause and effect in this lifeโitโs the invisible force that carries the soul from one lifetime to the next.
๐๏ธ When a person dies, it's not the endโit's a transition. The soul (Atman) leaves the body and, propelled by karma, continues its journey. Good actions (punya) may lead to peaceful realms or favorable rebirths, while unresolved karma must play out in lifetimes ahead.
There are four kinds of karma that guide this journey:
1. Sanchita: The soul's entire karmic record
2. Prarabdha: Karma chosen to be experienced in this life
3. Kriyamana: Actions taken now that create future karma
4. Agami: Intentions forming karma for the next life
These karmic layers influence not only how we liveโbut what happens after we die.
๐ฅ Hindu funeral rites, like Antyesti and Shraddha, are rooted in helping the soul transition, resolve karma, and move closer to liberation (moksha).
Itโs a profound belief: that every word, every action, every intention echoes beyond this life.
