HYPNOSIS needs to lose the mystique that surrounds it to allow the benefits to be added to the increasing list of accepted alternative and complementary practices.
In the 1950's both the British Medical Association and the American Medical Association approved hypnosis as a viable tool. In the late 1990's clinical hypnotherapy was approved for use in two of Sydney's major private hospitals in the area of pain and in pre and post operative trauma management.
The conscious mind has our rational and analytical thoughts, our will power and temporary memory.
All ideas pass into our conscious mind and if the ideas are new they pass into the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind holds our emotions, imagination, perceptions and our permanent memory.
Throughout life, both positive and negative communications have been implanted in the memory. When certain situations stimulate the remembered communication, there are both physical and emotional reactions within. These spontaneous reactions can be enhanced, altered, relieved and changed through thee use of hypnotherapy.
