Taking extra stress away from the body to help our thyroid and adrenals is like ice in lemonade on a hot summers day 🤸‍♀️

Can you take a moment to destress by being in nature?

⚡️Walk in natural surroundings every day
⚡️Walk outside to the park or green space in your lunch hour
⚡️In your afternoons or park time with the kids
⚡️On your way home or part way home walk or run
⚡️After dinner go for a walk

Can you eat a low inflammatory lunch free from chemical additives that are made from wholefood vegetables, leafy greens, legumes, seeds and sprouts or fermented foods.

Free from oils, sugars, wheat and preservatives to take the stress off your gut.

But the best and easiest one of all is to breath. Deep long breaths to the belly.

Take the time to get some moments in your day such as these to take that stress off your body.

Try these and let me know how you feel.

The 3 common concerns in peri and post menopause come from dysfunction of thyroid, adrenals and insulin.

17/11/2022

With fluctuations of hormones from our 40's onwards, we are going to have different responses in the body. Our function will change so trying to appease the symptoms with the same tricks you have always applied will have some big downfalls. We can't treat ourselves the same way.
But the fundamentals are the same;
✅ Eating a wholefood nutritional diet that fuels the body, not gives it toxins and substances it has to work to get rid of.
✅ Moving your body. We will always need cardiac health so cardio exercise is necessary.
✅ Flexibility so you are able to move and do all your tasks as you continue to age. Getting out of a chair, dressing yourself.
✅ Relaxation to allow the pause and assessment in navigating life, moving your body to parasympathetic function
✅ Fun activities that allow you endorphins to flow and happiness to provide elevation.

Are we being realistic and paying attention to this. Before we look to other areas, we need to ensure the basics.
For those of us that have this is place, we need to explore tweaks to this as there will be ways to improve all these fundamentals in sync with your unique circumstances.
Do you see this as being the case? What are your thoughts on the change you are experiencing?

We are becoming better at sharing about perimenopause and menopause which is necessary as more and more women are experiencing unnecessary symptoms that cause havoc on their lives and leave their self esteem in the ditch.

Remember the body starts to change hormone levels anywhere from late 30's to early 50's before the average women goes into menopause around 51-52yrs. During these years however you can experience varying symptoms that are hard to understand unless you pay closer attention.

Closer Attention to your cycle and the flow of your activities in your life.

Do you need to start paying closer attention to your cycle and the symptoms that come up during before and after?

Let me know if you are aware of what and when symptoms happen for you and what you do.

Or if not, time to start becoming aware?

Perfect healthy snack for old and little ones.

Turmeric Bars

2 Cups coconut milk
1 Tbsp ground turmeric
4 Tbsp grass-fed beef gelatin or organic porcine
10-15 drops liquid stevia
Pinch black pepper
Optional
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 Tbsp of raw honey as alternative sweetener.

1. In saucepan put turmeric, honey, & coconut milk.
2. Heat on medium-high heat for about 5mins, stirring
3. Taste & adjust sweetness
4. Remove from heat & sprinkle gelatin powder over warm liquid.
5. Whisk vigorously for about 1 min, ensuring gelatin powder completely dissolved.
6. Pour into glass dish & refrigerate until gelatin is firm & you can cut it into small portions.

This dish was approx 9”x5.5” and was half the recipe.
So if you want to give a small batch a try, simple!

Gelatin is a great source of amino acids which are needed by the body for skin, hair, nail growth, recovery after exercise, immune function, digestion support & weight regulation.

Make the most of healthy fats & warming spices in the cooler months!

Beautiful Chia is always a pleaser no matter when, particularly when you’re stuck inside (for you know why) or cooler temperatures.

I like mine with a little kick, ground version of chilli mind you to get the circuits working!

How do you like yours?

Why Popcorn is really a sometimes food.

It’s a vegetable, surely it’s okay.

Well we like to tell ourselves it’s okay. But I think we know deep down it’s a processed food. It’s usually turned into a food that takes from us rather than gives, by the way it is manufactured & packaged. Likely to be using unhealthy oils - Canola/Sunflower/Vegetable & then caked with a highly chemical filled flavour. And sorry the plain or salt flavour will be full of caking agent &/or fillers.

Most corn kernels are GMO crops & not to mention
the nutritional value is pretty much zero.

So next time you reach for this consider; is there not something else that will meet your craving; what has happened in your day to bring this on; & why not move along in your thoughts, shopping or activities.

If you really must have your popcorn, the safest way is old school, organic kernels, organic butter or ghee heated in a pot until popping with sea or Himalayan salt.

When you think you have nothing healthy to eat, a poke bowl appears!

The stable pantry - tin of oily fish, a necessary ferment always in the cupboard or fridge turmeric cauliflower, herbs - today chives, my favourite constant- avocado & of course a vegetable.

Happy well eating everyone!

Who doesn’t want to get another serve of fibre, and phytonutrients in their day. Along side feeling satisfied & not wasting a part of the plant!

Farm raised and on farm processed beef

Now that sounds great doesn’t it! Less likely to be getting extra unnecessary inputs into the process chain when it’s done at the source.

When you find a farm/Ed and they are wanting to respect the process of growing & developing beef for the purpose of health then we want to know about it right? Supporting the local farmer and their process has now become more important than ever with the development of synthetic beef in the horizon. So keep your eyes on Provenir the traceable meat producer & forget the substitutes for those still eating a bit of meat.

So really be careful of the protein alternatives in the market that really are not so good for the body. For starters the vegan & vegetarian protein patties I often see in the store are something to caution you on. These products may be protein substitutes however they don’t have the same naturally occurring nutrients that real protein food sources have, being highly processed & nothing like their natural form in the end. Plus, like most processed foods, they’re often filled with nasties in the form of preservatives and starches, sodium and corn products (likely GMO & zero nutritional value)

Cooking your meat slow and moist is always the preferred way to go. Not only does it tenderise the meat, it helps with the digestion, having begun to break down the dense protein molecules and fibres.

And one handy tip, remember protein and fat is the best combination for us to eat for sustained energy. Bon Appetite
