Wanda was established in 1946 after the Second World War by a group of returned servicemen and the colours of Army Red, Air Force Blue and Navy Blue were adopted as the club colours. Since this time Wanda has grown to its current membership of over 900 male and female members ranging from the 5 year old Nippers to the original Founding Members.

WoW (Women of Wanda) Day – International Women’s Day 💜

Today we proudly celebrated WoW (Women of Wanda) Day in honour of International Women’s Day - and what a truly beautiful day it was, celebrating women in all their strength and brilliance.

This year’s theme was Resilience, as we honoured the women who came before us and the incredible women who continue to shape and strengthen our community every day.

We were so fortunate to hear from Joy Adan from Gotcha for Life, who delivered a powerful and heartfelt keynote that deeply resonated with everyone in the room.

The day was filled with inspiring stories, vulnerability, warmth, and plenty of laughter - a true reflection of the power of women coming together.

Thank you to all who joined us and helped make this celebration so special.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP POINTSCORE WINNERS 🏆

Wanda Surf Life Saving Club has officially won the NSW State Championship Pointscore — bringing the title back to Wanda for the first time since 2012.

Newport have set the benchmark for 11 years and we have enormous respect for what they have achieved.

This was a phenomenal result for Wanda built on outstanding performances and points across every section of our club. It was truly a One Club performance.

On the back of last weekend’s Wanda Nippers also winning their State Age Championship Pointscore, it has been an extraordinary two weeks for our club — an unprecedented feat and a reflection of the strength, culture and pathway we are building from the ground up.

Most importantly, none of this happens without the army behind the scenes.
Thank you to our coaches, officials, water safety, IRB team, team managers, trailer drivers and the volunteers who supported our team every step of the way.

A special thank you to our patrolling members who stayed behind to look after our beach while our team competed.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Swansea Belmont SLSC for the fantastic job hosting the Championships - well done and thank you.

Congratulations to every single person involved. We are truly proud of you all.

A huge final day at the State Championships, with medals and points stacking up for Wanda.

Across the beach and water, our athletes delivered when it mattered most. The consistency, determination and team spirit on display all week has been outstanding.
An incredible way to close out the Championships and a fantastic reward for the hard work put in all season.
