Huge thanks to our patrol team for giving up their weekend to keep our beach safe. It was great to receive a visit from troop horses Tobruk and Dandy Boy from the NSW Police Force. We loved having you!

Mounted Unit - NSW Police Force

Troop horses Tobruk and Dandy Boy swapped hooves-on-parade for hooves-in-the-sand this Australia Day, spending the day at Cronulla alongside the incredible team from Wanda Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

From meeting beachgoers to soaking up the coastal atmosphere, the boys were calm, curious, and crowd favourites β€” proving they’re just as comfortable by the ocean as they are on duty.

A huge thank you to Wanda Beach SLSC for the warm welcome and all they do to keep our beaches safe. It was a special way to celebrate community, service, and the Aussie spirit. 🌊❀️

A huge Australia Day long weekend coming up across the club!

Shaw and Partners World Ocean Series – Maroochydore - we have a small surf team competing with racing commencing today.

Weekend at the 'Roy - March Past, R&R and Boats all in action at Collaroy.

Back at Wanda we have the Jane McGrath Classic, Greg Alderson Cup and Beach Stormers Round to start your Australia Day! Come down and take part or support.

Australia Day Iron Person – North Cronulla - a favourite for our nippers and other youth surf competitors

Patrols running Saturday, Sunday & Monday - thanks to our patrolling members who will keep the community safe across the long weekend.

To all our members, have a safe and enjoyable Australia Day!

22/01/2026

Today is a National Day of Mourning, a time for our community to pause and honour the victims of the Bondi Beach terrorist attack. We also recognise the extraordinary bravery of the first responders who stepped forward in the face of tragedy.

We encourage Surf Life Saving NSW members to take part in this moment of reflection by observing a minute of silence at 7:01pm (AEDT), spending time with family, friends and people of all faiths and backgrounds, and placing a candle on your doorstep or windowsill as a symbol of solidarity with the Jewish community. You may also choose to carry out a good deed or mitzvah in honour of Bondi.

Light will win.

Challenging surf and weather conditions from Friday to Sunday delivered plenty of thrills and spills at Maroubra.

The NSW Team backed up their Interstates win with a strong 2nd place finish in the Super Surf Teams League, while the Junior Blues also claimed 2nd in the Youth Division.

The Sydney Sharks rounded out the weekend with a solid 6th place result.

With 10 Wanda representatives across the NSW and Sydney Sharks teams, it was a standout weekend of racing β€” a huge effort in challenging conditions with some outstanding results. Well done to all!

Huge congratulations to Noah Steiner on advancing to the final weekend of the Shaw and Partners Iron Series.

In epic conditions at Maroubra across the weekend β€” conditions that made for spectacular racing β€” Noah went toe-to-toe with the best and earned his spot in the big finale.

An outstanding achievement in his first series. We can’t wait to cheer him on at Miami on 31 Jan – 1 Feb.
