This week we welcome a new medical specialist to the practice. Dr Tony Youssef is a Geriatrician (aged care specialist), who also practices as a General Physician and Rehabilitation specialist. Dr Youssef will bulk-bill all patients. A referral is required from one of our GP’s in order to get an appointment.

Dear Patients,

Commencing on Saturday the 30th of March our practice billing structure will be changing slightly. There will be a private consultation fee payable for any patient who has not attended the practice in the past two years(if the patient is not aged 15 or under, or is a pensioner aged 65+). All current patients will continue to be bulk-billed. The private fee will be payable only for a patients first consultation and then all subsequent visits will be bulk-billed.

Why the reason for the change?

The Medicare rebate has remained almost stationary for the past two decades, whilst costs of a practice have continued to rise (just like all households and businesses). The first consultation for a patient normally requires taking an in depth history and is generally a longer consultation. This fee will mean that our doctors can spend the time required when consulting with a new patient- or a patient that has not attended the practice in over 2 years.

We will continue to bulk-bill all current patients (those seen within the past two years), and all aged pensioners (65+) and children under 16 for all visits.
