Calling all Australian fascianistas!
As some of you may recall, I was (very proudly!) involved in the inaugural Australian Fascia Symposium in 2020. This online event – a real novelty in the early stages of COVID – brought together some of the foremost fascial science researchers and educators from around the world. It was a privilege, and a humbling experience indeed. My wish was to educate and share my experiences working with fascia, but I was gifted so much more! With no disrespect intended to anyone else, the stand-out presentation of that event was given by Dr Andrzej Pilat, a Physiotherapist and specialist in manual therapy. Hailing from Poland, I must admit I had little prior knowledge of him or his work. But like me, for all who witnessed his presentation that day, he stamped his place as an authority in the field. Every slide was an hour’s worth of contemplation as fascia was “dissected” from macro to micro!
Dr Pilat is a celebrated and highly regarded lecturer throughout Europe, and Central and South America, authoring a book featuring his very own Myofascial Induction approach, as well as co-authoring multiple papers on manual therapy. He is the Director of the Tupimek School of Myofascial Therapies, Madrid, Spain.
Now Dr Andrzej Pilat is coming to Sydney for the first time, in 2025! He will introduce us to Myofascial Induction January 22 through 25. This ground-breaking approach aims to optimise fascial efficacy by facilitating stability, so restoring movement and body homeostasis.
