Home Mind Connection

Home Mind Connection As a Professional Organiser for 11+ years, I now blend home organisation with Holistic & Meditative practices. Providing decluttering services & NEW workshops

Discover how decluttering, holistic health & mindfulness can create harmony in your home & mind. As a mum of three boys I understand the daily pressures of how hectic and stressful a day in the life of a mum can be. Homework, sporting activities, household chores and that never ending "TO DO" list. Because of this my main focus is on creating time for busy mums, however I also understand that most people are extremely busy and can all benefit from Free Time "4 Me" Time. Free Time 4 Me Time can help ease your everyday stress, by taking over your TO DO lists, creating valuable time to spend with loved ones and importantly well deserved ME time for you. As a professional organiser I will:

* Organise Cupboards such as the pantry, linen and wardrobes
* De-clutter rooms such as toy rooms, bedrooms and studies.
* Sort out old clothes and toys
* Create photo books and gifts from your digital and hard copy photos
* Create systems for children's art, hobbies and year books
* Shop for and wrap Birthday and Christmas presents

- essentially, if it is on your "TO DO" list, my aim is to get it done for you, leaving you with peace of mind and time to relax. Currently servicing Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Welcome to this Decluttering and Mindfulness Challenge!

For over 13 years, I’ve helped people declutter their homes, but one thing I’ve learned is that decluttering isn’t just about the physical stuff. It’s also about what’s going on in our minds. When we shift both, real change happens.
That’s exactly what this Challenge is here to help with! Each day, I’ll share:
*A small decluttering or mindfulness action
*A paired mindfulness or decluttering practice
* A simple reason why it works
The goal is to bring more clarity, calm, and space into your life—both inside and out.
These are short, simple tasks, and they don’t need to be perfect. I suggest you try 5-10 minutes each day to see the difference.

How it works:
Each day, I’ll share:
*A small decluttering or mindfulness action – A simple step to clear space in your home or mind.
*A paired mindfulness or decluttering practice – Helping you connect with the process.
*A simple reason why it works – So you can see the deeper impact of these small shifts.
You can do one or both—whatever feels right for you!
I look forward to hearing how you go!

Monday Reset - Observe before you Organise.
Your Monday Mindfulness and Decluttering Tip.

This morning as I walked through my home, I took a moment to pause and look around. Some areas made me feel light and calm, while others felt heavy and chaotic. (The weekend aftermath - I’m sure a lot of you can relate!) It was a reminder of how much our space reflects in our mind - and how a little awareness can shift both.
So as we reset for the week, why not give this a try:

Pause and Observe - walk through your home and just notice. No judgement, no pressure, just awareness of how each spaces makes you feel.
Ask Yourself - which areas feel good and what areas feel heavy?
Make one small shift - What’s one simple thing you can do to bring a little more peace to that space? (Mine was clearing all the clutter that had accumulated at our entrance over the weekend). 😊

What space in your home could use a little reset today?

This morning’s beautiful sunrise was a gentle reminder to slow down, breathe, and take a moment just for yourself.
Watching this bird stand still, reflected in the water, felt like the perfect symbol of mindfulness—being fully present in the moment.
With the year already flying by (how is it March tomorrow?!), it’s so easy to get caught up in the chaos. This was my reminder that we all need to take time to quiet our minds, especially after a busy few months.
I’ve been spending that time planning new offerings, studying, and preparing lots of exciting things to share with you soon. But for now, remember to - Take a pause, be kind to your mind, and soak in the little moments.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. 💛

I talk a lot about Home Energetics, about things that make you smile and feel good in your home. So I just had to show you what is making me smile everytime I walk in the door. These gorgeous freesias that I bought at the market last Sunday, have all blossomed and smell divine!

How good is this quote? I love it! A take on the “Don’t just sit there, do something”, it reverses that thinking of having to always be busy. Instead of rushing around, it encourages us to simply sit! By doing this, we can enhance our focus, and find some calm amidst all the chaos of life. I encourage you to “just sit” and enjoy the beauty of the present moment.

If you are thinking about decluttering, now is the time with a collection happening this weekend on the Northern Beaches. You don’t even need to leave the car. It’s a great opportunity to declutter clothing, particularly if you do a seasonal swap over. What have you not worn this Winter? They also take kids clothing and items and plenty more. Check the link for details. Happy decluttering.

Drive and drop off your old and unwanted items for reuse and recycling.

I heard this great quote yesterday – ‘The heaviest weight at the gym is the front door.’ It really got me thinking about how this applies to our homes and minds as well.

It’s so true! The hardest part of any journey is often just getting started. We procrastinate and make things much bigger in our minds than they really need to be. Once we take that first step, even if it’s really small, it feels so much easier and we feel so much lighter. Whether it’s tackling a small cluttered drawer or taking five minutes to clear our minds in the sunshine, each small step we take is progress and that progress provides momentum to keep us going.

Let’s inspire each other. I’d love to hear a small step that you’d like to take to declutter or organise your home or how you practice a few moments of mindfulness.

Day 26 - Self Care/Wellness
Spontaneous Adventure

I once read an idea that once a month you choose a place you’ve never been before and go. A spontaneous adventure.

A special friend and I decided we would share this and each month either she would choose a place, or I would. The stipulations were that it was a surprise and somewhere we’d never been before but have always wanted to explore. The beauty of this is that everyone’s likes are different, so you really don’t know what to expect.

Our first adventure was Wendy’s Secret Garden - an amazing garden neither of us had been to and is right on our gorgeous Harbour front! We’ve discovered art shows, new restaurants, hidden beaches and walks, every outing is an exciting adventure.

I encourage you all to try it. Either choose a place you’d love to go solo, involve a friend like I did, or let a family member be the guide. By embracing a spontaneous adventure, you break free from routine, providing yourself with a much needed mental break. It promotes mindfulness by fully immersing yourself in new surroundings, you can achieve personal growth by stepping out of your comfort zone and foster closer relationships by creating lasting memories together. An ideal form of self care - nurturing your mind, body and soul.

Where will your first adventure be?
