Inner Space Psychology

Inner Space Psychology Psychology practice established as a group in 2008 for the wellbeing of the Macarthur community. So what’s our story? We look forward to meeting you!

Back in the day, all the way back beyond 2008, Inner Space Psychological Services began as a one-person endeavour. It’s been quite a journey since then, and we’ve evolved into a warm and caring group practice. Our heart and soul have always been dedicated to guiding people through their toughest times. We believe in creating a space where everyone feels welcomed, understood, and supported. Our goa

l is to make our services not only effective but also personal and approachable. Life can be overwhelming, but we are here to walk beside you on your journey towards healing and empowerment. Together, we can overcome any obstacle life throws our way. During the early stages of our journey, we developed a special passion for supporting those who dedicate their lives to helping others through their work. Over the years, our psychology practice has become a trusted home for many first responders, military personnel, and their families. We understand the unique challenges and demands that come with their roles and the organisations they serve. Whether you are/were a first responder, a member of the military, or a family member seeking support, we’re here to provide a safe and empathetic space. Our team is experienced in addressing the specific needs and experiences of individuals in these roles. Together, we can navigate through the complexities and build resilience, ensuring you receive the care and understanding you deserve. You give so much to others, and it’s our privilege to give back by offering professional and compassionate guidance. Our services have since grown to embrace the diverse needs of our community as a whole. We hold a non-judgmental stance and value every individual’s unique contributions. Our approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and sensitivity. We create an inclusive space where everyone feels welcomed and understood. We embrace diversity and welcome you regardless of your cultural or religious background, your neurotype, your sexual preferences, or gender identity. Let’s journey towards growth and healing together as a united and supportive community. Even during the pandemic lockdowns (you know the ones), we remained committed to providing accessible services to our clients. Embracing the opportunities that arose, we now offer a blended approach to better serve you. Our services are available both onsite and online, ensuring you can connect with us through telephone, video, or face-to-face sessions even after the lockdowns. Your well-being remains our top priority, no matter the circumstances. Like you, our team are also diverse but we blend together through our common drive to help others find their way to a better quality of life. Our approach is centered around compassion, understanding, and personalised care. We believe in the power of collaboration and work together with our clients to create a tailored treatment plan that meets their unique needs. Our goal is to empower you with the tools and insights to navigate life’s challenges and embrace a more fulfilling and balanced life. No matter where you are on your mental health journey, we’re here to offer a safe and supportive space for you to explore, heal, and thrive. Let us be your partner in achieving a happier and healthier life. If you’re unsure of where to start, give our friendly admin team a call or book an intro call with one of our clinicians online. Birth Trauma Awareness Week (July 14th-20th, 2025) is a time to amplify the voices of those affected by traumatic birth experiences and to raise awareness of the long-term emotional impact that can follow.

Up to 1 in 3 mothers in Australia experience their baby's birth as traumatic. Yet, birth trauma doesn't only affect the birthing parent—partners can also carry deep emotional wounds from witnessing distressing or disempowering experiences.

PANDA's insights highlight that trauma can stem not only from medical complications but also from feelings of powerlessness, exclusion, or being unheard during the birthing process. Partners may feel sidelined or helpless, leading to lasting emotional impacts.

If you're navigating the aftermath of a difficult birth—whether as a parent or partner—you're not alone. PANDA offers support through their National Helpline (1300 726 306) and provides resources to aid in recovery.

In actual fact, most psychologists love to share a laugh with their clients. While therapy is a safe space for deep and sometimes painful conversations, it can also be warm, real, and even funny at times. Psychologists aim to be authentic and genuine because the relationship is central to effective therapy. Building trust often means meeting you as a human first — with empathy, understanding, and yes, even a good sense of humour.
