A huge thank you to Tallong Outdoor Education Centre for so generously hosting our recent Facilitation Course 🚣💚
Securing a venue is often one of the hardest parts of planning a course, but this time it was made so easy thanks to the kindness and support of Kendal Hann, Steve Fox, and Chef. From the start, they made sure we had everything we needed, even offering free accommodation and meals for our participants.
Kendal, Steve and Chef had the venue prepared so all we needed to do was arrive and focus on running the course and supporting our participants’ learning journey. That kind of support makes all the difference. They even had fresh coffee just for us 🙂
We’re deeply grateful for their generosity and commitment to helping the industry grow.

✨ Meredith Regan (pictured on the right) – An Early Childhood teacher with nearly 20 years of experience, Meredith has helped establish bush schools, published in educational journals, and led programs embedding Aboriginal perspectives at Birrigai Outdoor School.

🌍 Speaker Spotlight – Outdoor Learning Mini Conference 2025 🌍

In just 20 days — on 27 September — the Outdoor Learning Mini Conference is happening! 🎉

At this year’s event, you’ll gain practical skills and knowledge about taking your class or group outdoors, whether that’s in your centre, playground, or offsite. Sessions are designed to help you align outdoor experiences with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the school curriculum. You’ll also have the chance to connect with peers and learn from specialists across early childhood, primary, and secondary education.

We’re excited to introduce two of our speakers:

✨ Liza Wyckoff-White
With 13 years in Outdoor Education, Liza has worked across the US and internationally, and for the past 6 years has contributed her skills and creativity here in Australia with the Outdoor Education Group. She’s passionate about designing experiences that inspire connection, environmental stewardship, and appreciation of the natural world, always blending professionalism with playfulness to bring people together.

✨ Lisa Ison
Lisa has been an educator in the ACT for 28 years, teaching everything from Kindergarten to Year 6 and leading as a Music Specialist and Executive Team member. Since 2021, she has taught at Birrigai Outdoor School, where she brings students from Preschool to College into unique programs such as High Ropes Courses, First Nations Cultural lessons, and On Country Learning.
