IMPORTANT SURVEY / PADDLERS: (Please help and complete this survey)

The Centre for Maritime Safety (CMS), Transport for NSW, is presently running the 2023 Boater (inc Paddlers) Behaviour Survey and would like you to take part.

CMS is responsible for evidence-based strategy, policy and safety awareness campaigns. Your experience, views and opinions on maritime safety in NSW are imperative to help shape how CMS manages our waterways.

The survey is available to all NSW boaters and waterway users and is your chance to help guide Transport for NSW investment in infrastructure facilities where they are needed.

The survey can be accessed here. It will take about 20 minutes to complete. Link: https://survey.confirmit.com.au/wix/6/p733062495246.aspx

Participants who complete the survey are eligible to win one of ten $200 gift cards, which can be used at a wide range of retailers.

The results of this survey will be used to improve boating safety and for the provision of important boating facilities such as boat ramps. The survey will also provide valuable insights into how boating has changed in the face of COVID-19.

We encourage you to share this email and survey link to any NSW boaters and waterway users.

The Centre for Maritime Safety thanks you for your participation.

If a kayak is found out in the water without the owner around, a full search MUST be launched. Most of these situations are from a kayak simply floating away from shore or blown off a jetty (with the owner safe, somewhere else)

Please get one of these ‘Kayak Owners’ labels for your craft. Write on your name and number. If your kayak is found, then you can be called.

These searches cost tax payers many thousands of dollars and exhaust valuable resources.

Mirage and Sydney Harbour Kayaks have these stickers ready to go. Please make sure your kayak has one
