I’ve been meaning to answer common patient questions. However, I can never remember them, so I got chatGPT to list the most common questions for Chiropractors. So, here are my answers to the questions that AI has asked on your behalf:
How does chiropractic care differ from physiotherapy?
Chiropractic has a stronger emphasis on joint motion, the shape of the spine and their impact on the nervous system. Chiropractic is obsessed with the nervous system because it controls the tightness of muscles, pain sensitivity, coordination and many other important things.
Are there any personal hobbies or interests that influence your approach to chiropractic care?
I love weightlifting and am a big advocate for it for all ages. So, I really enjoy treating patients to fix problem areas and give them the confidence to lift weights without injuring themselves.
What inspired you to become a chiropractor?
I like that Chiropractic is a unique form of healthcare that always strives to be on the cutting edge. Elements of Chiropractic that have been previously considered to be woo-woo and have been shown to be sound by recent scientific research. This intersection of science and alternative medicine is always interesting to me.
What areas of chiropractic care are you most passionate about?
I selfishly like treating sport and gym injuries because I like sport and the gym. I also enjoy treating both pregnant patients and people with jaw issues because you can get a massive change with very straightforward treatments so it makes me look like a genius.
How do you stay current with advancements in chiropractic?
Scientific journals, conferences, online continuing professional education and podcasts (yes, chiropractors have their own podcasts and I suspect they would be very boring for anyone outside the profession).
What do you enjoy most about working with patients?
I enjoy learning about patients’ peculiar hobbies and activities. Trips to Iraq, shark-diving, DJ-ing, playing Warhammer, political activism and taekwondo tournaments are not how I spend my weekends, however I very much enjoy hearing about them. Of course, I also enjoy helping patients get the results they want.
