A corn is a small, circular, hardened patch of skin on the foot, arising from repeated pressure or friction. These thickenings of keratin act as a defense mechanism to protect the skin, but can become painful.
Removing corns involves the debridement of the hard skin, as well as removing the small, central nucleus with a scalpel.
The relief is generally immediate!

You might notice in our business hours that we close a little earlier on Mondays, and at lunch time on Fridays, to allow for manufacture time.

Custom made orthotics are an effective treatment for a range of biomechanical issues, and with long-term use, can alleviate a great deal of discomfort.

Our Director, Franc, will be away from Wednesday 30th July, to Friday 1 August, for some minor surgery. We wish him a swift recovery!

Franc is back as normal next Monday 4 August.

👣 It's National Diabetes Week 2025 👣

Many patients are unaware that a diabetes diagnosis can mean an increased risk to their feet. Poor circulation, loss of sensation, and nerve damage can occur in patients living with diabetes. A relatively minor injury can ulcerate, not because of poor foot care, but simply because the loss of sensation means a patient is unaware of a small injury to their foot.

The good news is that regular diabetic and neurovascular foot checks - recommended at least annually - as well as routine podiatry appointments every 2-3 months, can remove a great deal of this risk.
If you are diabetic, book in with us now.
And remember to check your feet regularly! 😃

From 1 July, our treatment prices will increase slightly, for the start of the new financial year. We are committed to keeping our increases minimal for all our loyal patients, and typically increase only 3-5%, in order to cover our own rising costs across the board.
Medicare patients will continue to pay a discounted fee, and receive the rebate.
As we are preferred providers for Bupa, Medibank and HCF, our charges will be set by their revised schedule of fees.

I have been doing my best over the last 22 years to run Australia’s only giving library for people experiencing homelessness. Right now, there are so many Australians in crisis, and we are seeing this on the streets of Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Demand for our services is growing.
As winter approaches, I’m asking for help – if you can, please donate to The Footpath Library by visiting https://www.footpathlibrary.org/donate/ so that we can keep our mobile libraries operating for people experiencing homelessness.

Are you a Monday to Thursday patient? Then you'll know Melissa very well!
Are you a Friday patient? Then you'll know Angela very well!
Patients often ask us if we're new, if they happen to come in on an irregular day! 😆
Both Melissa and Angela work at reception at . Angela is part-time, and largely behind the scenes as Practice Manager, whereas Mel runs the day-to-day. As a team, we communicate with each other daily, so don't worry if you've spoken with only one of us - we chat and leave clear patient notes.
