Diabetes is a progressive condition that, over time, can contribute to reduced mobility, muscular de-conditioning, delayed wound healing, and a decline in functional independence.
Our General Reconditioning Programs, available across Macquarie Health Corporation’s network of nine accredited hospitals, are designed to support individuals managing chronic conditions such as diabetes.
Through targeted rehabilitation, these programs aim to improve physical capacity, restore energy, and reduce secondary health risks associated with functional decline.
Our multidisciplinary allied health teams—including physiotherapists, dieticians, and specialist nurses—collaborate to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care with measurable clinical outcomes.
This Diabetes Awareness Week, we encourage healthcare professionals, patients, and families to explore the role of reconditioning in chronic disease management.
