How you receive from life is deeply connected to the mother.

So often, the places where we struggle to receive are rooted in something much older than the present moment.

Being hurt by a narcissistic person is painful.
But healing begins when we also ask:
What wound in me is being touched?

That question is not about blame.
It is about awareness.
Because some patterns do not begin in the present. They reach back into our earliest bonds.

For many, this is where the mother wound lives.
Under the pain.
Under the pattern.
Under the way love became confused with longing, proving, or abandonment.

The effects of war do not end when the bombing stops.
They move through families.

A grandfather loses his home.
A mother grows up with fear.
A son carries a feeling of danger he cannot explain.

This is one simple way to understand Family Constellations.

We look beyond the personal story and ask:
What happened in the family system that is still living through someone today?

Sometimes what we call anxiety, grief, over-responsibility, or the fear of losing everything did not begin with us.
It may be connected to what our parents, grandparents, or ancestors had to endure.

Family Constellations helps us see these hidden loyalties with care.
Not to blame the past.
But to understand what we are carrying, and what may now be ready to be put down.

The mother bond reaches deep. It can shape how we feel in love, how we trust, how we receive support, and how fully we let life in.

On Sunday 31 May 2026, I’m holding a Mother Wound Workshop in Bondi Junction, Sydney.

Through Family Constellations, we’ll gently explore what has been carried in the relationship with mother, and what may have come through earlier generations.

When pain stays unconscious, it keeps running the same pattern.

We react automatically.
We cope.
We explain.
But nothing truly shifts.

Real change begins when we slow down enough to feel what is actually there.
Not the story we built to survive it.
Not the version the mind repeats to stay in control.
But the emotion underneath.

When we put words to what lives inside us, something important happens.
We move from unconscious reaction to awareness.
From survival pattern to presence.

And in that moment, the brain can begin to do something new.
It can reorganise.
It can soften old pathways.
It can create new ones.

This is part of how healing happens.
Not by forcing change.
But by staying honest with what we feel, and giving it language.

What is named can begin to move.
What is felt can begin to shift.
And what once lived in the dark can start to come back into relationship, with the body, with the heart, and with life.

Some people ask me how one person can represent someone else in a constellation.

But we are in exchange all the time.

When you enter a room, something arrives with you.
And something in me responds.

In constellations, the representative is not acting.
They are noticing.

A feeling.
A movement.
A change in the body.

And from there, we begin to see what belongs to the system.

What actually happens in a Family Constellation?

Often, less “acting” and more listening.

When someone is chosen as a representative, the invitation is not to perform or make something up. It is to stay present. To notice what is happening in the body. To allow emotion, numbness, tension, stillness, or movement to be information.

Even “nothing” can be part of the field.

In this work, we are not forcing insight. We are learning to recognise what is already there.

And when we stop trying to act, something deeper can begin to show itself.

When we recreate a representation in a Family Constellation, we make the invisible visible.
What was hidden in the family field, loyalties, entanglements, unfinished movements, begins to show itself through the representatives.
It’s a living picture of the system revealing what wants to be seen.
