A RAVENS GIFT π¦ββ¬
Ravens have been known to leave gifts for those that they trust and who have shown them kindness. They have been known to leave everyday objects, often shiny, like sea glass, buttons, or twigs.
A few years ago, I had a Raven start visiting me on my verandah. I would leave her food occasionally, some unsalted nuts or similar here and there, but not a lot. She used to come to my door and call out. One day, she brought her two babies to the verandah. She continued to bring them, until one day, they started coming without her.
She popped back occasionally, so I knew she was still alive and had obviously dropped her noisy kids off with me and was living her best life. π
Raven are predatory birds and don't tend to win many popularity contests. Sometimes, I can understand why because these two have started tearing out my potted plants. π«£πͺ΄
Just like naughty children, they do something that frustrates you, and then the next minute, they do something sweet.
These guys have started leaving me gifts. When I say gifts, I mean a white pebble one day, and today... a turd! They say it's the thought that counts, right? I can't help but be impressed at how they managed to balance a pebble and turd on a round railing.
I've heard stories of Ravens bringing coins and jewellery....hello! I can't polish a turd and call it a diamond guys π ππ€£ Bring shiny stuff! π
