📺 Mediband on ABC News
With the U.S. ending the De Minimis exemption, Australian businesses are facing major challenges. Low-value goods sent to the U.S. will now be hit with tariffs and fees.
Our Founder & Managing Director, Michael Randall, spoke with ABC about the impact this has on Mediband and our U.S. customers:
“Overnight, we had to turn off shipping to the U.S. … Some of our customers are end users, others are hospitals like Boston Children’s Hospital. These are lifesaving medical IDs—essential in emergencies when every second counts. If we can’t get them to the people who need them, the flow-on effects are serious: delayed treatment, increased risk in emergency situations, and added stress for families relying on these products. We don’t want to be in a situation where we can’t ship products that have already been paid for, even if it means wearing the extra cost.”
