Dr. Stephen Horrowitz is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. He delivers babies at both the Royal Hospital for Women (RHW) and Prince of Wales (POW) Private Hospitals in Randwick, Sydney . ital For Women in Randwick. at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 1976, and completed his internship at the Groote Schuur Hospital in 1977. He gained the MRCOG (UK) in 1985 achieving marks which resulted in him being awarded the Medal. He then sat the South African specialist exam gaining the FCOG(SA) in March of 1985. After immigrating to Australia in September 1985 he wrote the MRACOG in 1986 and became a fellow in 1988 when he became a lecturer at the U.N.S.W., and a consultant at the Royal Hospital for Women (RHW). In that year he also commenced his private practice. He has been working as a Consultant at the RHW for 27 years as both an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. Dr. Horrowitz has had extensive exposure and experience in the management of normal and high risk pregnancies. He conducts a hospital based GP shared care antenatal clinic once a week at the RHW as well as a fertility clinic in the Department of Reproductive Medicine as in the Royal Hospital for Women. As a Lecturer for the Medical School of UNSW he makes sure that he is always kept up to date with the latest developments in his field. He is also actively involved in registrar supervision and training for the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology training program. In 1988 he travelled to Nashville, Tennessee and was trained by Dr James Daniell in laparoscopic and hyteroscopic surgery including CO2, Yag and KTP LASER work.
