I am a Specialist General Practitioner (FRACGP) with over thirty years of professional experience in the medical field. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to providing comprehensive healthcare services, including preventative health strategies. In addition to my general practice, I have developed a special interest in cosmetic facial rejuvenation and have undertaken advanced training and earned relevant certifications in this domain. Over the past sixteen years, I have operated a cosmetic practice alongside my GP practice. My expertise covers a wide range of non-surgical treatments aimed at addressing concerns such as wrinkles, volume loss, and skin laxity. I also have a particular interest in bio-regenerative procedures that stimulate the body's natural repair mechanisms to reduce visible signs of aging. I believe in assessing each patient's unique facial anatomy, skin condition, and aesthetic goals to create personalised treatment plans designed aimed at achieving the best possible results. Throughout every procedure, I strictly adhere to the highest standards of medical safety, hygiene, and patient care to ensure optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.

My journey in thread lifting started in 2014 when I first explored non-surgical facial lifting techniques. In 2017, I officially began working with Aptos threads after they were successfully registered with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia, confirming that the products meet Australian safety, quality, and efficacy standards. To improve my skills, I completed extensive training programs focused on the specialised Aptos techniques. In 2018, I travelled to Tbilisi, Georgia, to undertake advanced practical training, including instruction from Dr. Marlen Sulamanidze, the renowned pioneer and original designer of the Aptos threads and thread lifting methods. This intensive training not only enhanced my technical abilities but also made me one of the first two practitioners in Australia to receive official certification as an Aptos Trainer, allowing me to teach and certify other professionals in this innovative technique.

As the beauty industry evolves, there is growing interest in treatment methods that show versatility and adaptability. The Aptos Thread Lifting Method demonstrates innovative use of threads as flexible tools that can play a significant role in cosmetic enhancement. This technique involves the precise placement of specialised threads beneath the skin to gently lift and tighten areas of the face and body that may be experiencing some sagging.

Hereโ€™s why the Aptos method is considered innovative:

1. **Biocompatibility**
The threads are designed to be biocompatible and biodegradable within the body, with the potential to support tissue regeneration and production of new collagen and elastin. The goal is to provide not only the lifting effects but also to support the overall health of the skin over time.

2. **Precision in Technique**
The Aptos method is distinguished by its unique placement techniques that optimise the lifting effect while minimising trauma to the surrounding tissue.

3. **Variety of Applications**
The Aptos thread lifting method presents a range of techniques that can be customised to address individual concerns. Whether aiming to improve areas such as the face, neck, or body, these methods are adaptable to help mitigate issues like volume loss, fine lines, and sagging skin.

The Hyaluronic acid (HA) molecule is composed of two simple sugars connect in a specific way, giving HA its unique properties, notable for its ability to retain water, which helps keep tissues moist.

The body produces HA naturally, and it is found in many areas, especially in the skin and connective tissues. HA plays important roles in bioregeneration and neocollagenesis to repair and maintain healthy skin.

Bioregeneration is the bodyโ€™s ability to repair and renew tissues after injury or as we age.

The Role of HA in Bioregeneration

1. Hydration and Viscosity: HA helps retain moisture in tissues, creating a friendly environment for healing.
2. Cell Migration and Proliferation: HA encourages cells to move and multiply, both of which are vital for repairing tissues. It helps cells enter the areas that need healing and creates a hydrated space for movement.
3. Modulation of Inflammation: HA influences inflammation in a complex way. Larger HA molecules usually reduce inflammation, while smaller pieces can sometimes trigger it. These smaller molecules can send signals that cause inflammation through certain receptors in immune cells.
4. Matrix Remodeling: HA is key to organising the extracellular matrix, supporting nutrient flow in the skin, and building the tissue framework needed during healing.

Neocollagenesis is the process of making new collagen fibers in the skin, which helps keep it firm and elastic.

The Role of HA in Neocollagenesis

1. Stimulation of Fibroblast Activity: HA enhances the activity of fibroblasts that produce collagen.
2. Supporting ECM Structure: HA provides support for other matrix components like collagen, ensuring they are arranged properly.
3. Signaling Pathways: HA interacts with cell receptors to activate pathways that promote collagen production and skin remodeling. Small HA fragments can help develop new blood vessels.
4. Increased Growth Factor Availability: HA helps stabilise and transport growth factors that improve collagen production and tissue regeneration.

Ongoing research into HA is expected to expand its applications in regenerative medicine and dermatology.

๐ŸŒŸ We are excited to announce a groundbreaking update to our Aptos thread lifting technique! ๐ŸŽ‰ Our latest product features advanced bio-compatible materials that enhance the effectiveness of thread lifting.

โœจ **Key Benefits:**
- **Increased Elastin Production**: Stimulates earlier and increased production of elastin, which acts like a biological rubber band, enabling tissues to stretch without damage. This enhanced elastin production aids in restoring the skinโ€™s youthfulness and elasticity.
- **Early Activation of Collagenesis**: Activates collagen production sooner, improving the density, strength, and elasticity of aging skin over time.

Advanced thread technology utilises the unique properties of various components to provide both mechanical support and active biological stimulation. Aptos threads, made from a combination of polylactic acid (PLA) and polycaprolactone (PCL), are recognised for their dual effectiveness.

In addition to PLA and PCL, the latest Aptos technology incorporates a biocompatible polysaccharide polymer that coats the PLA/PCL threads. This coating is known for its ability to reduce inflammation and facilitate smoother integration of the threads within body tissues. It also plays a vital role in skin rejuvenation by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, contributing to tissue hydration, which is essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness.

The combination of lifting effects and regenerative properties marks a significant advancement in aesthetic and dermatological medicine.

DID YOU KNOW!
Elastin allows connective tissues to stretch and return to their original shape, particularly in flexible organs like skin and blood vessels. Unlike collagen, which provides strength, elastin acts like a biological rubber band, enabling tissues to deform without damage.

In healthy tissues, elastin has a slow turnover rate and is one of the bodyโ€™s most durable proteins, with a half-life of about 70 to 78 years. Its production peaks from fetal development to late adolescence, then declines significantly. However, factors like sun exposure, smoking, and inflammation accelerate its degradation.

Aptos thread lifting techniques utilise a proprietary blend of 75% Polylactic acid and 25% Polycaprolactone threads, which have been shown to stimulate new elastin production, helping to restore skin youthfulness and elasticity.
