Finding the right SIL can feel like a needle in a haystack —
reputable provider, gender mix, location, compatibility, behaviours… it’s a lot to line up.

That’s exactly why we share our vacancy listings — so you can clearly see where, who, and what’s available, without the back and forth.

If you’re starting to explore options, it’s a good place to begin.

Longing for a holiday is human.

Just because someone has a disability doesn’t mean they should miss out on getting away, switching off, or having something to look forward to.

It just takes a bit more planning to make it work.

We’ve put together a simple guide to help break down what that can look like in practice — without the confusion.

Schizophrenia is one of the most misunderstood conditions out there.

For many, the perception is shaped by headlines, movies, or assumptions — not real experiences. And that gap creates stigma that can be harder to deal with than the condition itself.

The reality is, people living with schizophrenia are navigating a complex condition while still wanting the same things as anyone else — stability, connection, independence, and a sense of normalcy.

A bit more understanding, patience, and informed support can go a long way.

This month is a reminder to challenge what we think we know, and take the time to understand what’s actually real.

What does good support actually feel like?

It’s not always in the big moments — it’s in the small, everyday things.
Showing up on time. Listening. Not rushing. Knowing someone’s routine.

And on the flip side… we all know what doesn’t work.

The difference is often subtle — but for the person receiving support, it’s everything.

Worth keeping front of mind.

Daily routines matter — the simple things can make a big difference.

A walk around the local park, some fresh air, a change of scenery…

And of course, it’s always a cherry on top when you get to sneak in a pat with a friendly neighbourhood fluffball 🐾

The right support starts with the right questions.

Here are 4 things worth asking your support worker 👇

A good SIL home is simple: safe, comfortable, good support, aclean and well-maintained.

It’s the little things — lawns done, spring cleans, homes that feel lived in (in a good way).

That’s where SITES comes in.
Working behind the scenes to keep Maple homes running as they should — so participants can focus on living, not the upkeep.

A good SIL home is simple: safe, comfortable, good support, clean and well-maintained.
