"Coach, why do I keep getting injured? I stretch, I rest, but something always hurts."

The coach looked at the runner and asked, "What do you do when you are not running?"

The runner frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Are you strength training? Are you working on mobility? Running is not just about running.

It is about building a body that can handle running. If your core is weak, if your hips are tight, if your glutes are not strong enough your body will compensate. And compensation leads to injury."

The best runners do not just run.

They prepare their bodies to run well.

From Monica:

Sports and all things related has always been a passion of mine which has led me to find a career in Physiotherapy. Learning about the body and how it moves is incredible. Through uni and my life experiences, I have noticed the importance of taking care of our bodies and giving it what it needs to heal and prevent further injuries so I hope to share and spread this knowledge around.

As a person, you’ll always find me dipping my toes in a new sport or hobby every couple of months. My current go to sports are snowboarding and running but it’s likely to be different when you meet me in person.

I hope to see you in the clinic as we work together to get you back to your potential. I don’t only just want to treat you, I want to get to know what’s important to you to get you to where you want to be!

Our top notch physio Zaki had the experience to observe a ROBOTIC total knee replacement procedure today at Westmead private hospital. The surgery took 45 minutes! So great to see the advancements in our technology nowadays.
