3 months into our changed diet now.
I decided to cook meat only once a week. The results for me have been huge. I don't crave the meat or want to eat it either.
I actually had a heavy sick feeling after eating Greek meatballs,which used to be my favourite meal.
My digestive system is so much happier & I've got more energy eating vegetables.
My family are on the same page as me too. Some weeks I don't cook any meat.
My grandparents are this way as well.
They grew organic vegetables & fruit. Their diet was primarily vegetarian with some seafood as they lived on the Island of Samos.
Meat was rarity, as animals were slaughtered for special occasions.
It takes considerable time for meat to be digested & pass through the large intestine. When we consume meat on a daily basis && the body can't process the food & eliminate properly, this can be the basis for many health problems.
I see so many patients with digestive disorders. Bloated stomach, burping, farting, constipated, lethargy. All these subside once meat is reduced.
