The female body was never supposed to be smooth, firm and flawless. It was designed to create life, to host life, to feed life.

Yes there are many other amazing aspects to us all but underpinning our fight to retain a ‘figure’, is a whole network of genetics, science and an entire evolutionary process which wants to create, store and produce fat for protection and hormonal health. If you are losing a battle for slimness, do not for a moment think this is your fault. You are trying to blow away the wind.

Feed yourself well, physically, mentally and spiritually, and then enjoy your life with the vessel you inhabit. It’s a one shot only thing. Peace, laughter and acceptance are the best medicines around.

Having difficulty sleeping? If you are in a state of hyperarousal or stress, your body will produce cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine and adrenaline, all of which will keep you alert and awake. That’s a good state to be in when you are in a race but not when you want to fall asleep.

The hyperarousal can be mental, emotional, physical or all of the above. The type of situations leading to that state are different for all of us. For instance, one person might fall asleep in front of the TV, whereas the other has trouble falling asleep for hours after the end of the same TV show.

You would have certainly noticed the challenge to fall asleep directly after a long drive or after an intense training session.

Plan some relaxation time and a slow down technique into your evening routine, and your sleep will improve.

Most people follow their natural daily rhythm and don’t eat (=fasting) at some point throughout a 24 h cycle (=intermittent). 💡
It is critical for your heath to follow the you circadian rhythm - your day-and-night rhythm. You sleep and rest and night, and you eat and move during daytime. 🌜☀️
Fasting during the night, gives your body the energy and time to focus on rest and recovery rather than digestion. 🛌
Different protocols of intermittent fasting make use of the capacity of your body to heal and get stronger while fasting. 🔥

The practice of noticing your hunger and satiety signals is part of any intermittent fasting protocol and is an essential tool for optimal health.

Intermittent Fasting 🕚 It’s not a one-size-fits-all kind of game❗️

How and to what extend benefits are noticed in individuals but also in research studies depends on a list of variables.
⭐️
For example, if we compare an elite athlete with a person who leads a sedentary lifestyle, the benefits for the sedentary person will be more significant. However, that is not to say that an elite athlete cannot benefit from intermittent fasting. Choosing an inappropriate fasting protocol and not receiving professional support can quickly lead to performance and overall health issues in elite athletes.

The good news is though that no matter your circumstances, there is a protocol for almost (!) everyone.
