Let's check in!

Checking in with our bodies means taking a moment to pause and tune into how we’re feeling physically and emotionally. It involves being aware of our sensations, such as tension, pain, fatigue, or even energy levels. This practice can include:

Listening to Physical Signals: Noticing signs like hunger, thirst, pain, or fatigue.

Reflecting on Emotions: Recognising how our physical state may relate to our feelings, like stress or anxiety.

Assessing Needs: Determining if we need rest, nourishment, or a break from our routine.

Overall, it’s about fostering a deeper connection with ourselves and being proactive about our health and well-being. This is one of, if not THE most important skill we can ever learn.

How will you check in with your body today? Leave a comment I would love to hear from you.

With love,
Lauren x

What led me here?

I credit my introduction to and love for holistic healthcare to my beautiful mum.

Through her own experience with her illness journey, I learnt that we are so much more than just a physical body, and that ultimately our health and wellbeing are the result of harmony and unity between all parts of us; mind, body and soul.

I am lucky to be part of a wonderfully open and intuitive family, and I myself have personally experienced the incredible transformations that can be achieved from holistic therapies.

I offer a unique way of looking at your symptoms, with a focus on body work and counselling, culminated from years of experience and intuition.

Together, we help you understand WHAT your symptoms are trying to tell you and WHY they evolved in the first place.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in exploring further, please get in touch with me.

With love,
Lauren x

Many health approaches tend to focus solely on the physical symptoms of our conditions or illness, overlooking the extremely important psychological and spiritual aspects, which often are the reason our physical symptoms have manifested in the first place.

Mind Body Medicine combines the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western Medicine and is built upon the important relationship between the mind and body and how they simultaneously affect each other.
This approach focuses on your body psychology system to help to identify the lifestyle and psychological factors that are driving your symptoms, and to uncover their root cause, aiming to empower you to make positive change by reconnecting you with your inner self, realigning your beliefs and helping you to overcome deep-seated behaviours.

In my sessions, I have found working with this approach to be extremely beneficial in addressing the root cause, or core, of an issue which is paramount in achieving long lasting results, and not just a short term fix.

If you are feeling as though you have certain beliefs and or behaviours that are impacting your health and wellbeing, if you are feeling, fatigued, stressed, "stuck" or experiencing any other physical symptoms, please get in touch via my website and booking link, I would be honoured to help.

The Meridian System in Traditional Chinese Medicine in simple terms, refers to the flow of vital energy, or Qi, through our bodies, much like the blood in our Circulatory System.

This energy, or life force, is essential for the vitality and functioning of our organs, tissues, and our overall well-being. When this energy flow becomes blocked we begin to experience strong emotional responses, and if not addressed, ultimately physical symptoms will manifest, such as pain, fatigue, anxiety and digestive issues.

Acupressure is a practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine that involves applying pressure to specific points on the body (points on specific Meridians), it is similar to Acupuncture except that it uses fingertip pressure instead of needles. Acupressure helps to clear these blockages and control your symptoms, and is just one of the many incredible techniques that I use in my sessions.

Working with the Meridian system allows me to obtain important information regarding your overall health and well-being, and ultimately the tools to assist you in your healing journey.

If this sounds like something you may need, or that you would like to experience, please get in touch via my website and booking link.

Much love,
Lauren x

We as humans have become very good at creating excuses and reasons as to why we feel we can not freely express our emotions.

With belief systems such as....

I will hurt their feelings
My feelings will be hurt
I will be judged for my emotions
I will be seen as weak
I'm just over-reacting
Men do not cry
Women are too emotional
It is not ok to express anger
I am making myself too vulnerable
It is better to be seen and not heard

Does this sound like you?

The problem with not expressing our emotions however means that instead we suppress them, we bury them down, down, down covering them with suppressed emotion after suppressed emotion pretending that everything is fine and going about our days never truely expressing what is in our hearts. Over time, this causes dis-ease within our bodies and minds. When really all we need to do is honour our emotions and feelings, ALL of them......to FEEL into them, to EXPRESS them from our hearts, and then move forward having felt HEARD, all the while being true to ourselves....and in doing so, restore balance to our body, mind and spirit.

If any of this has resonated with you, if YOU are in need of a safe space to let go without condition or judgement, please get in touch, I would be honoured to hold that space for you.....to HEAR you ❤️

Lauren x

What is Muscle Monitoring? An extremely gentle, non-invasive technique where a muscle, generally on your arm, is used as a tool to communicate with your body, i.e. to test the quality of information transfer (biofeedback) between that muscle and your brain.

Simply, we are looking for any changes in resistance or 'stress' in the muscle in response to certain questions. The clarity of the muscles' response provides me with the information required to help guide your session based on what your body needs.

Since 2010 I have worked as a Physiotherapist in Hospital, Private Practice and Community settings, and in all my years as a Physiotherapist I have known that there was more to health to explore. Our emotions affect our stress levels and our stress levels affect our health.

I always had a feeling that there was more ‘under the surface’ than what was being expressed physically, and that to truely achieve lasting positive results it was important to also address the ‘emotional stuff’.

This lead me towards my professional qualifications in Kinesiology and Mind Body Medicine, what I now consider to have been ‘the missing links’ in my holistic and integrative approach to healthcare.
