🌟 Meet Sarka — a lifelong carer who brings heart, skill and deep compassion to every visit.

From knowing she wanted to be a nurse as a young child in the Czech Republic, to caring across Europe and now supporting clients in Sydney East, Sarka’s journey has always been guided by one thing: a genuine calling to care.

Her calm presence, reliability and deep empathy were proudly recognised in November 2025, when Sarka received the Team Excellence Award at the Home Care Assistance Sydney East Carer Awards 🏆 reflecting both her dedication to clients and her incredible team spirit.

Sarka is one of our most requested care workers, known for forming meaningful connections and treating every person with dignity and respect. One simple hand squeeze from a client living with dementia reminded her - and all of us - just how powerful human connection can be.

Our Sydney East Client Christmas Lunch was a truly special day 💚

With nearly 70 clients, carers and staff gathered at The Randwick Club, for a day filled with laughter, connection and Christmas cheer. This event was made even more meaningful as it marked the final function ever held at The Randwick Club before its permanent closure.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, to our incredible team who coordinated the day, and to our amazing care workers who helped transport clients so they could be part of this special celebration. Most of all, thank you to our clients - spending time together like this is what it’s all about!

Last night, our Operations Manager Layal Asanza and our Community Engagement Manager Linda Hanna represented Home Care Assistance Sydney City & East at the Future of Ageing Awards in Sydney.

Held at Dockside, Darling Harbour, the event brought together passionate leaders and organisations who are helping shape a brighter, more inclusive future for older Australians. The awards recognise excellence in areas such as consumer experience, wellbeing, social connection, technology, and cultural development — all values we hold close at HCA.

We were incredibly proud to be named finalists in two categories this year:

We witnessed first hand how a similar service helped our Grandparents have a greater life experience with help in their own home. Their happiness and mental welfare became positive again as they continued the life they knew in their home they loved and we, as the family could continue our jobs and help when we could, knowing we had support from wonderful caregivers 24/7.

We understand the concern for the loved one, having a stranger in their home, we can work with you and the find best way to manage and overcome these challenges. We also, understand how important the right matched caregiver is to both the loved one and family. That is why we pride ourselves on truly listening to the stories and life achievements, so we can better understand the need and want of our clients.

We believe in providing the best care for your loved one as if we were their family too. This is our passion, help the way we age.
