If you still have a conscience this is the moment to use it. Speak to the media and your local politicians.

According to the WHO about 16% of people globally live with disability. In Australia only around 2.7% are on the NDIS. That tells you this is not an out of control system, it is a small and highly vulnerable group.

And let’s be clear this is not about fighting corruption or dodgy providers. If that was the goal you go after the providers and fix the system properly.

You don’t remove 160,000 Australians living with disability, their families and the workers who support them from essential support. How did we get to a point where this is acceptable?

This is not reform. This is making the most vulnerable pay the price for economic pressure and war and that should concern all of us.

160,000 people?

No. That’s not just a number. That’s 160,000 of the most vulnerable people in our community. People with disability.

The audacity to say it like that… like it’s just a figure on a page. These are real lives. Their families. The workers who support them.

And let me be clear. The biggest impact won’t even be in Western Sydney. I’ll explain that properly later. The reality is this will hit communities across Australia even harder. And I genuinely feel for them.

As a former NDIS provider, I bring firsthand experience. I’m no longer in that space, but I know the system.

To the people here in Cumberland and surrounding areas, I’m here for you. I know the barriers. The language. The digital and admin barriers. The lack of advocacy groups. The complex system that makes it hard to even know what you’re entitled to. You shouldn’t have to fight this alone.

If you’re dealing with NDIS issues, come to me. I will support you. I will stand with you. I will help you.

Cumberland. Merrylands. This is on us.
Zero tolerance. No excuses.

Any form of racism, hate or abuse verbal or physical, has no place in our community. That includes attacks targeting members of the pro-Palestinian movement.

If we stay silent it grows. If we ignore it spreads.
We all have a duty to call it out report it and follow it through.

This is on all of us. Residents. Leaders. Community.
We protect each other or we fail each other.

Update on Russell John Campbell case
Adjourned to May 13 to allow him to seek legal advice through Legal Aid. Bail conditions remain unchanged.

Cumberland stands for respect. Always.

I’m not here to mock or take any pleasure in anyone’s hardship.

But this is a reminder for all of us. We are human and we are fragile.

When people listen to you your words carry weight. Especially in moments when anger is high and phrases like “give them hell” directed at War Criminal Netanyahu in the context of Gaza, can travel far beyond intention.

Words are never simple. They can hurt others … but sometimes they come back heavier and hurt the one who said them the most.

A reminder to myself before anyone else

They started the conflict. They targeted the leadership, striked a country, killed thousands of civilians , destroyed infrastructure and then a complete blockade followed …

And we’re meant to be surprised when they use their last card and close Hormuz …

And the irony? We’re being told by Murdoch media this is “China’s plan”.

Have we reached a point where media no longer respects the intelligence of Australians?
Do they honestly believe we’re this naive or dumb ?

The gap is the story!

Over the next 5 years Australia is expected to add around 2 million people with about 1.5 million from migration. That means we need roughly 800,000 homes just to keep up.

The target is 1.2 million homes but we’re already about 20% behind pace which means we’re likely to deliver around 960,000 homes. That leaves roughly 160,000 extra homes over five years, or about 1.5% of total housing stock.

It may ease pressure slightly and slow rent growth at the margins but it won’t fix affordability or clear the backlog of homelessness, overcrowding or waitlists.

This isn’t a real solution, it’s pressure management and we’re still far from where we need to be.

You don’t start fires and then expect us to send our kids to burn in them for you …

You don’t assassinate leaders, bomb cities, destroy infrastructure and kill thousands then expect people to accept it and move on.

That’s not how this region works. The world begged for a ceasefire during the Iran–Iraq war and it still went on for YEARS …

If this war matters so much to Trump and Netanyahu they should be the first to send their own sons and daughters not ours …

And by the way a serious face in a photo doesn’t equal serious understanding …

Australia should stand for peace!
