Importance of Shravan Maas (श्रावणी मास) in Ayurveda
The month of Shravani Maas (usually falling in July–August) holds great spiritual and seasonal importance in Indian tradition — and is particularly significant in Ayurveda. This period aligns with the monsoon season (Varsha Ritu) in the Indian subcontinent, a time when the body’s doshas are naturally disturbed, especially Vata and Pitta, and immunity is at its lowest. Ayurveda prescribes unique seasonal practices (Ritucharya) during this time for cleansing, rejuvenation, and strengthening of body and mind.
