We’ve been told that “obesity makes us unhealthy” — but health is so much more than a number on a scale.
What’s often overlooked is the real harm caused by living in an anti-fat world — where weight stigma, shame, and bias can deeply affect both mental and physical health.
Let’s challenge the myth and create space for health at every size, where all bodies are treated with care, respect, and compassion.

You’re not alone if mealtimes feel stressful.
Some kids struggle to eat for reasons far beyond “picky eating.”
Getting curious — instead of critical — helps your child feel safe, seen, and supported.
And getting help from a dietician, psychoogist or feeding specialist, can make a difference.

🌸 Moms, let’s talk about something important… 🌸
This week is Weight Stigma Awareness Week — a time to shine a light on how harmful weight stigma can be, especially for kids.

👉 What is weight stigma?
It’s the unfair judgment, teasing, or discrimination someone faces just because of their body size. Kids can pick up on these messages early — from peers, media, or even well-meaning adults. Over time, weight stigma can harm their self-esteem, mental health, and their relationship with food and their bodies.
✨ As moms, we have the power to create a safe and supportive space for our children. Read for some tips on how to help challenge weight stigma.

When we challenge weight stigma, we help our children grow up feeling confident, valued, and free to have a positive relationship with food and their bodies. 💖

😴💤 Tired? It’s not just in your head…
Lack of sleep changes your hormones:
⬆️ Ghrelin = more hunger
⬇️ Leptin = less fullness
⬆️ Cortisol = more stress + cravings
👉 This can make food feel harder to manage — for you and your kids. Poor sleep can also affect how little ones learn to notice hunger + fullness cues, which is key for a healthy relationship with food and body.

Did you know that under eating can actually slow down your metabolism?

Our bodies are smart. When we don't give them enough energy, they adapt by lowering BMR (energy needed to keep us alive), reducing daily movement (NEAT), and even making workouts feel harder.

That's why eating less and less isn't the answer - it only leaves us tired, frustrated and stuck in the diet cycle.

Instead feeling your body with enough food supports:
👍 a healthy metabolism
👍 energy to enjoy life (and keep up with the kids)
👍 being a positive role model around food and body image

You deserve to feel energised, nourished and free from guilt around food. 💪💕

Here's to breaking the cycle and choosing balance over restriction.

I'd love to know, what's one way you are nourishing your body today?

NEW BLOG POST: PRINCESSES & SUPERHEROES. Helping our kids see their worth beyond fairy tales and capes.

From twirling princess dresses to superhero muscles, our kids are soaking up messages about beauty and strength earlier than we think. In my latest blog, I’m sharing simple ways we can raise resilient little humans who know their worth goes far deeper than how they look.

Princesses and superheroes inspire kids—but mums can teach them that true strength and beauty go far deeper.
