In my last post, I shared how beetroot juice (and other nitrate-rich vegetables) can help lower blood pressure — especially in older adults.
But here’s the other side of the story:
Spinach, kale, beetroot and other “superfoods” are also high in oxalates. For many people this isn’t a problem, but for some, too many oxalates can lead to gut irritation, kidney stone risk, fatigue, joint pain or just that frustrating feeling of “I’m eating healthy, but I feel worse!”
