Doing new things is amazing for growing the neural pathways in our brain - ie helping it grow & strength.
Especially navigating strange and unexpected ones.

This is what I’m doing on an unexpected 2 day stop-over in Seoul
I had to get a new ticket via here to get back from Bali to Lon as I wanted to avoid the war zone.
Such an interesting place!

21/03/2026

Nyepi- the powerful silent day when Bali stops. The whole island stops!
If you’ve been here for it you might have felt yourself just start to unwind by the end of the 24 hours, but it’s only the start of what our nervous systems really needs.

What if there was a way you could unwind and revive more than Nyepi gives?
What you like to experience that?
A chance to feel more alert, more energised, more creative and alive, yet also with a deep ease in your body so everything became easier -
and all this in just an hour.

Before dawn a few days ago I walked out of the rice fields of Ubud with a small backpack and my computer.

For 5 slow weeks I had been tucked into the quiet rice paddies, working ā€œonā€ my business. Exploring new processes, offerings, and ways to describe the journeys people take with me.
We had weeks of intense monsoon rain - the heaviest in 27 years. Perfect days to work on my rice field terrace, and in open-air cafƩs.

Then a few days ago I emerged...
I walked down into quiet central Ubud.
Met a 6.30am shuttle to the harbour where the boats leave from.
I was heading to a small, slow-paced sand island where transport is only by horse & carts and bicycles.

The crossing was choppy, but luckily it only took 1.5 hours.
And suddenly I was in such a different place.

I stepped off into the simplicity of Gili Air.

It is one of the 3 small islands between Lombok and Bali. Here is a Moslem community, so no shrines as in Bali where flower offerings are placed every day. Instead there is a different faith with its musical calls to prayer.

I’ve rented a bungalow with a hammock on the verandah where I have gently rocked to muse on new ideas while looking out over the calmer turquoise sea.

I’ve come here to be with the flow of the sea. To take my writing materials out to thatched huts by the water - finding my muse here.
The steady slow rhythm of waves is both nourishing and awakening for our nervous system - and for our creativity.

So this is where I’ll be for a week - listening to the sea and letting the next phase of my writing flow.

I’m curious - where do you go for fresh inspiration?

P.S. While I’m here by the sea I’m planning a book that’s been quietly calling me.
So I’m gathering people’s real stories about the dreams & projects they feel drawn to - and obstacles that seem to stand in the way.
If there’s something important you’ve long wanted to bring to life or expand, but feel limited - I’d love to hear your story.

If you’d like to share, simply write

For five slow weeks I was tucked amongst the quiet rice paddies north of Ubud, working 'on' my business. Exploring words, phrases, structures, free offerings, and clearer ways to describe the journey people take when they work with me online and in person.
(I’ll soon share with you what came to me!)

During this time we had weeks of intense monsoon rain - the heaviest in 27 years. So they were perfect days to be working on my terrace with its divine rice field view, when the rain didn’t drive me inside, and in nearby beautiful open-air palm-thatched cafĆ©s.

Then a few days ago I emerged...

In the dark pre-dawn early morning I walked out of the rice fields with a small day pack of clothes, and my computer and writing essentials, down into quiet pre-tourist central Ubud.
There I caught a 6.30am shuttle to the harbour where the boats leave for other islands.

I was heading to a small, slow-paced sand island where transport is only by horse and carts, or bicycles.

The boat crossing was choppy with a surging swell, but luckily it only took an hour and a half.
And suddenly I was in such a different place.

I stepped off into the simplicity of sandy Gili Air.

Gili Air is one of the three small islands of Lombok, the big island next to Bali. Here is a relaxed Moslem community, so there are no shrines as in Bali where flowers, rice and offerings are placed with mindfulness every day. Instead there is a different faith with it's musical calls to prayer.

I’ve rented a bungalow with a hammock on its verandah overlooking the turquoise sea and its gently lapping waves.

I’ve come here to be by, and in, the flow of the sea. Where I can take my computer and other writing materials out to one of the thatched huts (bales) on the edge of the water - letting this place become my next muse for my writing.

The steady slow rhythm of waves is both nourishing and awakening for our nervous system - and for our creativity.

So I'm curious - where do you go when you need fresh inspiration?

P.S. While here by the sea I'll be writing the book that’s been quietly calling me, so I’m gathering people’s real questions and stories about their important dreams, and obstacles in their way.

If you have a bigger work, business or life dream calling, or creative project you’d love to share - yet something seems to hold it back (thoughts, health, opportunities, or something harder to see) - I’d love to hear your story.

These stories will help me include topics that people are truly looking for in this book.

Would you like to help me?

As a thank you, I can give you a 10-minute online session.

A Time of Gifts - this lyrical book shares a truth. In this young man’s travels across Europe in 1933 with almost no money as Nazi’s were coming to power - he is part of threatening events, & still finds tiny gifts of kindness on his way.

Travel helps us see gifts in everything around us, one reason why we love it - yet we can find gifts anywhere, even in places we know well.

It’s how we look at the world in each moment that allows them to come to us.

Our mind loves to have opinions.
To say yes to this and no to that.
Yet what if we didn’t….

What if we stayed open to experiencing, to seeing and connecting with it all?
If we didn’t exclude.
Just allowed.

Still make choices, yet do this without closing our heart or mind to the ones we don’t pick.
Have less fixed opinions.

Then every moment, every encounter can become a potential gift.

In this time of much division in the world it’s so easy to limit what we are open to.
When we make a decision and say only this is right and another is wrong, then our fears, our narrow mind is winning.
And we miss gifts waiting for us.

Gifts can come in many and often unexpected ways.
They aren’t only lucky or beautiful - even weird, unsettling, uncomfortable and not what we call beautiful things can be gifts, if we stay open and just observe without judgement.

We can look either way at an insect that could bite us, a sudden noise, wild weather, someone else’s different option, not getting what we want, even world chaos - so try pausing, calm fears, and just observe with an open heart and mind.

Try putting away your phone more often, and you’ll see more…
Exchange a smile with a stranger, enjoy a flower, people talking, noisy traffic, or even an insect.

When we stay open to all that comes our way - gifts can come in every moment that surprise us.

Then every moment, even in these intense times, can become a time of gifts.

It’s easy to forget our nervous system.
To become caught up with the exciting or needed things we do.
Yet still - take some slow time out to pause, to do something nourishing for your body, to reconnect with it physically.

Your nervous system will love it.
And you’ll feel happier, more grounded and more clear-minded. 😊🪷

For my simple tips from where I am in Bali for calming your nervous system - ones you can use anywhere, anytime. See them in the comments below… šŸ‘‡

When I come back to Bali each winter (monsoon here), I come to create. To write, to vision, to film some videos for you - though first, to pause.

When I land, I give myself days to relax into, to feel the slower, simpler pace of traditional life here.

This is space to listen in to my nervous system, and to drop into a kinder pace that supports it.

It is easy to do where I'm staying as it is surrounded by rice paddy fields, frogs croaking and crickets singing all night. Torrential monsoon rains fall most evenings and the streams are gurgling and overflowing.

Each morning happy ducks quack loudly as they follow their farmer out into the paddies to eat bugs in the water around the rice. (Pic is Ducks off to ā€˜work’ in the rice paddies.)

The sounds of the wildlife here are so loud that my online clients often hear them in the background on our calls.

For here amongst the rice paddies there are no roads or no cars, a few bikes - mostly just the sounds of nature.

This is an environment that is deeply supportive and relaxing to our nervous system.

Yet what are the benefits of supporting our nervous system this way?

Two key reasons are -

• When our nervous system is more balanced it enhances our Emotional Balance and Mental Clarity. Helps us think clearer and boosts our mood and wellbeing by enhancing chemicals in our body like serotonin and dopamine. These help reduce that core level anxiety that we can often feel about the smallest things.

• Increases our Stress Resistance. It does this by calming our freeze, fight or flight reactions in stressful times which helps us to adapt to and handle stress situations and triggers so much easier. Life feels just that bit easier.

Simple ways to help rebalance your nervous system?

• Birds - Listen to Birds singing (even a recording), or to relaxing Music.

• Hum - Humming a song, or just a note, sets up a vibration through our chest and jaw that resets our nervous system.

• Breath - Try something as simple as this ...pause a moment, close your eyes, and take a few slow breaths in your nose and let them relax longer out your mouth and feel the difference.

With all of these, your nervous system, and mind, will settle and relax back into your body, into this moment, and whatever is happening around you will feel easier.

Our nervous system loves slow, present moments. Even tiny ones.

So try taking a moment a day to pause, to feel the difference, and enjoy the uplift and expansion from it.

Your thoughts will be clearer, you'll feel happier and maybe you'll use it to tap into your creativity like I am finding here amongst the rice paddies, frogs and ducks in Bali, or for something else important for you.

With love,

Cassandra Punita x

Here is Bali they often have such simple and easy solutions to problems….
Often natural, like this solution. When I asked the kind manager of the villas where I’m staying if there was a way to dim the bright path lights?
He came up with this innovative idea.
Now the birds, frogs and insects, and other people, and I no longer have our nervous systems thrown out of balance.

And we can see and enjoy the beautiful fireflies darting about the rice paddies in the dark.

I have a gift for you for just this month….
