It’s World Doula Week 🤍
This week, we honour the women who have walked through their own trials and transformations, and through this, have chosen to stand up again, and stand beside other women as they journey through pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.
To be a doula is to hold space.
To offer knowledge.
To nurture confidence.
To empower.
Because when a woman feels supported, informed, and safe, everything changes.
Not just for her, but for her entire family.
We see it in the partner who steps forward, becoming the steady rock, the grounded presence, the protector of space.
We see it in the gentle rhythm between doula, care-provider, and loved ones — each playing their role, creating an environment of trust, calm, and connection.
And in that space… oxytocin flows, and love leads.
This is not just beautiful , it’s evidence-based.
Research over the past decade continues to show that continuous doula support is associated with:
• Lower rates of caesarean birth (up to 25–39% reduction in some studies)
• Reduced use of interventions such as forceps, vacuum, and synthetic oxytocin
• Shorter labours
• Increased satisfaction with the birth experience
• Better outcomes for both mother and baby
Perhaps most importantly, women report feeling heard, respected, and in control, something that cannot be overstated.
In a time where many women have felt pressured, dismissed, or led into interventions they did not fully understand or desire, doulas are helping to shift the narrative.
To every doula past, present, and rising — thank you and well done! May God guide you gently, give you courage, a sound mind and anything you may need to be the fullness of who you were called to be. A joyful servant. A woman of love.
You are making a difference.
Happy World Doula Week 🤍
