When your boss brings in pastries for the team... 🥐🍩😋 Delicious? Absolutely. Anti-inflammatory? ... not so much. 😅

We know sugar and processed goodies aren't exactly on the "anti-inflammatory foods" list (sorry croissant, we still love you 💔). But hey - life's about balance!

For every pastry we're balancing it out with some anti-inflammatory legends like:

🥑Avocado
🐟 Salmon & other oily fish
🥦Leafy greens & cruciferous veg
🍓Berries
🌰Nuts & olive oil

So yes, we'll keep enjoying the occasional pasty (team bonding counts as medicine too, right? ), but we'll also be reaching for the colourful, wholesome foods that keep our bodies moving pain-free.

Todd’s ten tips for today👇

1️⃣ Most back pain isn’t from a single injury—it builds up over time.
2️⃣ Persistent back pain can feel overwhelming— whilst its uncomfortable, its manageable with the right care.
3️⃣ Scans don’t always reveal the cause. Your story matters more.
4️⃣ Pain doesn’t necessarily mean damage. Pain and structure don’t always correlate.
5️⃣ Flare-ups can be triggered by stress or poor sleep.
6️⃣ Movement is medicine — even if it feels uncomfortable.
7️⃣ There’s no “perfect” posture. The key is to keep moving. Sustained postures are the villain.
8️⃣ A weak core isn’t always the problem. Sometime learning to relax and breathe helps too.
9️⃣ Herniated disc? Surgery isn’t always the answer. It doesn’t have to be as serious as it sounds.
🔟 Your back is strong. Everyday movement makes it stronger.

A recent study* in rats found:
- Physical activity can influence cellular processes that contribute to overall wellbeing
- As you exercise various molecular responses are being triggered, such as the release of growth factors, increased mitochondrial function and improved muscle repair
- These microscopic processes help reduce inflammation support cardiovascular health, and enhance metabolic function
- Obviously these studies need to be repeated in humans however it seems likely that these findings would translate to humans as well
- Hence another reason that moderate exercise, if consistent, can bring about significant improvements in health!
