There are foods that somehow just generate feelings of happiness, but did you know that research shows there are foods that can actually boost your mood? A few easy foods to add to your diet for that natural boost include:

Taking care of your joints, particularly as you get older, is really important, here's some simple things you can do to keep them healthy:
1. Don't wear high heels very often - it increases the force applied to the knee joint
2. Drink more water - water is important for synovial fluid in the joint, which helps to lubricate and increase cell growth
3. Warm up before you exercise - prepare the joints properly
4. Eat more fruit and vegetables - they are nutrient rich and help reduce inflamation
5. Get enough calcium - it's good for strong bones and joints

We all know we shouldn't indulge in sugary things, but a life without any sugar is difficult! But overdoing it comes with health consequences, namely the risk of developing diabetes or heart disease. There are some easy ways to avoid intaking too much sugar, here are a few:
- Avoid sugar soft drinks and juices, some have up to 55 grams of added sugar!
- Be careful with artificial sweeteners as they can interfere with glucose metabolism, which can actually hike up your sugar cravings over time.
- It's fine to treat yourself with some sweets, but learn how to portion control or switch to dark chocolate.
- Check nutrition labels on foods and drinks 'low fat' can mean 'high sugar'
- If you like flavoured yoghurt, purchase plain Greek yoghurt and add in your own frozen fruit

We all know that sleep is important, but sometimes you need an extra boost. A daytime nap can not only help you feel refreshed, it can promote cognitive areas, including self-regulation, executive functioning, cognitive control, enhance memory and motor performance. However, just be careful not to snooze too close to bedtime as it can detract from your nighttime sleep and undo all the good for the next day.
