Cotton candy coastlines and salt lake skies... 💕

From above, Hutt Lagoon looks almost too magical to be real but yes, this pink lake in Western Australia is 100% nature’s doing. 🤩😱

The surreal pink hue comes from Dunaliella salina, a type of algae that thrives in the lake’s salty water and produces beta-carotene (yes, the same stuff in carrots!). 🥕🤓

It’s one of those places you have to see to believe and even then, you’ll still be left in awe. 🥹💕

Relaxing Spa Pool Sundays 🤎
Tucked into the ancient folds of Hamersley Gorge in Karijini National Park, this spot is known as the Spa Pool and it’s just as dreamy as it looks!

🌀 Formed by millions of years of water erosion, the pool’s perfect curves and swirling rock patterns are carved from some of the oldest rock on Earth, over 2.5 billion years old! 😱

The rich mineral tones and crystal-clear water make it feel like nature’s own day spa.

If Karijini isn’t already on your bucket list, this is your sign. 🚙😎

Walking through another planet? Almost! 🤩😎
The PINNACLES DESERT feels like something out of a sci-fi film — towering limestone pillars rising from the sand, sculpted by millions of years of wind, water, and time. 🌪️⏳

📍 Found in Nambung National Park, WA, this surreal landscape was once an ancient seabed. Over time, seashells broke down into lime-rich sand, and what’s left behind are these otherworldly formations — some up to 4 metres tall!

We explored it, windswept, and in total awe. And this was only just the beginning of our WA adventure…

✨ Next stop? One of the most meaningful sunsets of our lives. Stay tuned. 💛

GOLDEN HOUR AT KALBARRI 🌅
Perched high above the Murchison Gorge, the Kalbarri Skywalk gave us one of the most breathtaking sunsets we’ve ever seen. The sweeping views, the colours, the stillness — it felt like we were standing on the edge of the world.

This moment? Pure Western Australia magic.

💗 Fun & Fascinating Facts About Hutt Lagoon:

It’s naturally pink!
The lake gets its vibrant pink color from a type of algae called Dunaliella salina, which produces beta-carotene — the same pigment that makes carrots orange. The color can shift between bubblegum pink, lilac, and even red depending on the time of day, season, and salinity levels.

It’s one of the world’s largest beta-carotene farms.
Hutt Lagoon isn’t just beautiful — it’s also functional. The algae is farmed commercially for use in cosmetics, food coloring, and health supplements.

It’s pink almost all year round.
Unlike some other pink lakes that change color dramatically or lose their color during certain seasons, Hutt Lagoon often maintains its pink hues most of the year, especially on sunny days.

It’s below sea level.
Parts of the lagoon lie about 0.5 meters below sea level, which contributes to its high salinity — a key factor in the pink coloration.

It has cinematic appeal.
The surreal landscape has made Hutt Lagoon a favorite backdrop for fashion shoots, drone photography, and tourism campaigns. Brands like Lancôme have even filmed there!

It’s best viewed at specific times.
The lake is at its most vibrant during midday on a sunny day, when the sunlight enhances the pink tones. Morning and late afternoon bring softer hues — think lavender or pastel peach.

BUNGLE BUNGLE beauty through PICCANINNY GORGE walk ☀️

Words could not describe just how incredible this place was, seeing how beautiful and powerful nature is always leaves me in awe and this was definitely a Kimberley highlight!

Highly recommend starting any walks before 8am due to the heat and to take plenty of water with to keep hydrated as it gets VERY HOT end of April but so worth it!

Truly magical!
