Paediatric Occupational Therapy

At North Shore Kids Therapy, our Occupational Therapists support children who may be struggling with things like big emotions, sensory sensitivities, coordination, toileting, attention, or confidence at school or preschool.

Families often come to us looking for help with:
✨ emotional regulation & meltdowns
✨ sensory processing differences
✨ fine & gross motor skills
✨ play and social skills
✨ school readiness & daily routines

Our approach is play-based, neuro-affirming, and relationship-focused, supporting children (and parents) to feel more calm, capable, and connected in everyday life.

We also have Paediatric Speech Therapists, neuro-affirming behaviour support practitioners and early education inclusion practitioners as integral parts of our multidisciplinary team.

At North Shore Kids Therapy, our Early Years Educator & Inclusion Practitioner works alongside early learning teams to translate inclusion into everyday practice - right where children learn, play, and belong.

This role is all about:
🌿 Understanding behaviour through a neurodiversity-affirming lens
🌿 Supporting regulation and participation in real classroom routines
🌿 Building educator confidence with practical, education-grounded strategies
🌿 Strengthening collaboration between families, educators, and therapists

In early learning settings, we:
✔ Observe children in context
✔ Liaise with educators
✔ Translate allied health recommendations into realistic classroom supports
✔ Support transitions, routines, and engagement

Within the clinic, we also offer:
🌟 Social sensory groups
🌟 School readiness groups
🌟 Regulation and participation-focused sessions
🌟 Strengths-based capacity building

And for early learning centres, we provide on-site support, staff meetings, and professional learning to strengthen inclusive practice across the whole team.

At North Shore Kids Therapy, our speech therapists support children to build communication, connection, and confidence through a child-led, play-based, and relationship-focused approach. Exciting news from our team!

We’re delighted to share that we’re rebranding from North Shore Occupational Therapy to North Shore Kids Therapy

This new name honours our incredible multidisciplinary team - including our speech therapists, behaviour support practitioners, and early education liaison specialists - alongside our occupational therapy team.

While this isn’t a new direction for us (we’ve been working collaboratively for years!), we wanted a name that clearly communicates the comprehensive, connected support we offer children and families.

Our goal remains the same: to help children and their families thrive, and to empower parents and educators with the insights and strategies that make everyday life easier and more joyful.

We’re so grateful for the support of this wonderful community and can’t wait to continue walking alongside you as North Shore Kids Therapy - where every child’s growth is nurtured through connection, curiosity, and care.
