Here’s something not everyone will tell you it is willing to admit…
We’re together 14 years - we’ve had some amazing highs but some serious lows…
I won’t lie and sugar coat it - a lot of them were as a result of my own unhappiness and insecurity.
Don’t think for a second that how you feel about yourself is not projected or felt by your partner.
The way you feel about yourself and your body is a primary contender in your relationship - and if you’re not in one - may be a reflection as to why.
Think about it for a second…
The moods you’re in while on your quarterly fad diet…
The energy you have after your 5th hiit session of the week…
Not enjoying your monthly date night because ‘it’ll ruin your progress’…
Being too uncomfortable to let your partner touch you…
The last 5 years our relationship has went from strength to strength. The person I have become working on myself. The woman I show up as in our relationship. The healthy relationship I have with food and exercise - none of it goes unnoticed.
We go on dinner dates with 0 guilt or worry about calories…
We’ve travelled the world and I’m not picking apart my body in a bikini…
I’m not jealous, or worried or insecure (ps Owen NEVER EVER made me feel this way - it was totally internal)…
As women we tend to put ourselves last. Friends, family, colleagues or partners - all come higher in the pecking order.
But here’s the truth - start putting yourself first. Start working on your relationship with food, exercise and your body. Start showing up for yourself…
…And I promise you - you’ll also start thriving in other areas of your life 🤌
