Earlier this month, a workshop led by RDN Health’s Community Project Officer, Maryann Iannelli and hosted by the Leeton Collaborative Care Project in Leeton, saw local healthcare providers, community representatives, and representatives from the NSW Ministry of Health come together to discuss healthcare in the Leeton Shire.

The group explored ideas to strengthen healthcare access in the community and participants worked collaboratively to find practical ways for people in Leeton to better manage their health and wellbeing.

A key focus of the day was the opportunity to develop a Leeton Health Hub network, which would link healthcare providers in Leeton with all that the Murrumbidgee region has to offer and help ensure residents are receiving coordinated care and access to regional programs that support healthy families, healthy ageing and good mental health.

Co-Designing Solutions for Leeton’s Access to Health Services

Earlier this month, the Collaborative Care Project Leeton reached an exciting milestone as we moved into phase 3, Co-Design, of the 5-phase project.

Local healthcare providers, community representatives and partners – including representatives from the NSW Ministry of Health – came together in Leeton to explore ways to strengthen healthcare access for our community.

Through interactive discussions and activities, participants shared ideas on how health services in Leeton can be better connected, communicated and coordinated, making it easier for residents to manage their health and wellbeing.

One of the key opportunities discussed was the potential for a Leeton Health Hub network, which would link local healthcare providers and Leeton residents with programs and services available across the Murrumbidgee region.

The workshop builds on the strong feedback we have already received from the community and local health professionals, and the ideas shared will now help shape practical initiatives focused on:
✔ improving awareness of local health services
✔ promoting health service pathways
✔ strengthening connections between healthcare providers
✔ making it easier for residents to access the support they need

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed their ideas. Your input is helping shape the future of healthcare in Leeton.
