At Super Rehab, we believe a mentally healthy workplace is just as important as physical safety.

Last week, our team participated in an evidence-based training session delivered by the Black Dog Institute, exploring the importance of supporting mental health in the workplace, including:
✅ Recognising early signs of stress and burnout
✅ Practising supportive conversations
✅ Understanding legal responsibilities and support pathways
✅ Implementing the Five Ways to Wellbeing in everyday work life

This training is part of our ongoing commitment to prioritising team wellbeing, reduce stigma, and foster a culture where it’s safe to say “I’m not OK.”

Thank you to the Black Dog Institute and NSW Government for providing this training to support workplaces like ours. For resources or to access this free training for your organisation, visit:

We’re wrapping up National Diabetes Week by highlighting the practical, evidence-based tools our team uses to support clients managing diabetes — because small changes can lead to big results.

Our Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians play a key role in helping clients:
1. Improve blood sugar control
2. Maintain muscle mass and bone strength
3. Reduce fatigue and fall risk
4. Build daily routines for long-term wellbeing

💡 Hot Tip from our Healthy Living Guide: “Just as regular workouts build muscle, they also maintain and may even increase bone strength, reduce the risk of osteoporosis, and improve quality of life.”

Whether it’s a 30-minute walk, a balanced meal plan, or strength-based movement — we tailor support to suit every individual’s needs.

🌈 June is Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

At Super Rehab, we celebrate Pride Month by recognising and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, including our clients, team members, and the broader community we serve.

As a mobile allied health provider, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where every person feels seen, valued, and supported. Our team understands the importance of culturally sensitive and affirming care, especially for those who may have faced barriers when accessing healthcare in the past.

This month, we’ll be sharing:
✨ Resources on inclusive health practices
✨ Tips for providing affirming care in community settings
✨ Stories from our team and clients celebrating diversity and inclusion

We’re proud to walk alongside our LGBTQIA+ community, not just in June, but all year round.

World MS Day – Supporting Strength & Independence

Today is World MS Day, and this year we’re proud to join the global “My MS Diagnosis” campaign, with the theme “Navigating MS Together.”

At Super Rehab, we support individuals with MS through:
✅ Home-based Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Exercise Physiology
✅ Fatigue management strategies
✅ Balance, mobility, and strength training
✅ Daily living support and assistive equipment recommendations

MS can affect each person differently—but with the right allied health support, people can continue to live full, active, and independent lives.

💙 If you or someone you know is living with MS, our team is here to help. Contact us to learn more.

Today we’re shining a light on the work of our Occupational Therapists with two questions we love to ask our team…

💬 Q1: What’s one thing most people don’t realise about your role?

“Most people think OTs only help with equipment—but it’s so much more than that.
We look at how people live, move, and function every day, and help them find ways to do the things that matter most—whether that’s cooking a meal, showering safely, or getting out into the community again.”

💬 Q2: What’s a small change that makes a big impact in a client’s life?

“Installing one grab rail in the right place can mean the difference between needing daily assistance and being able to shower independently. It might seem like a small fix, but for the client, it’s freedom, dignity, and confidence regained.
We’re all about those little wins that add up to a more independent life.”

🙌 If you’ve ever worked with an OT or had one change your life, tell us below!
And if you’re not sure whether OT is right for you or a loved one, send us a message. We’d love to help.

🤔 Who Should I See First – OT, Physio, or EP?

We get this question a lot. With so many allied health professionals, how do you know where to start? Here’s a quick guide to help you (or your client) figure out which clinician might be the best fit to begin your health journey:

💪 New Injury, Surgery, or Movement Issues? Start with a Physiotherapist (PT)
They’ll help you manage pain, regain mobility, and rebuild strength after an injury, surgery, or flare-up. Common reasons for PT input include knee replacement, back pain, stroke recovery, mobility decline.

💤 Ongoing Fatigue, Pain, or Chronic Health Conditions? Start with an Exercise Physiologist (EP)
EPs provide tailored exercise programs to manage chronic conditions like diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, or fatigue. They focus on long-term functional improvements and fitness in a safe, sustainable way.

🏠 Struggling with Daily Tasks or Home Safety? Start with an Occupational Therapist (OT)
OTs help with daily living activities, home modifications, assistive technology, and building routines for independence. Think showering safely, meal prep, or adapting your home to avoid falls.

💬 Still not sure? That’s OK. Our team at Super Rehab works together to connect you with the right support. We often collaborate across all three professions to give you the best outcomes.

🧠 Physio vs. OT – How Do They Work Together?

In the community setting, Physiotherapists (PTs) and Occupational Therapists (OTs) all work together to help clients stay safe, mobile, and independent—but each profession has a unique role.

✅ PTs help clients regain strength, mobility, and balance.
✅ OTs help clients stay independent in daily life—through home modifications, assistive equipment, or retraining for everyday tasks.

💡 Example: After a fall, your Physiotherapist will work with you to improve your strength, balance, and walking ability, often using targeted exercises and mobility retraining. Your Occupational Therapist will assess your home environment for potential hazards like loose rugs or poor lighting, and recommend modifications such as grab rails, non-slip mats, or a shower chair. They may also help you relearn safe techniques for dressing, bathing, or using the kitchen, ensuring you’re confident and independent in your daily routines.

🏋️‍♂️ EP vs. Physio – What’s the Difference?

In the community setting, Physiotherapists (PTs) and Exercise Physiologists (EPs) both work together to help clients stay safe, mobile, and independent, but each profession has a unique role.

Both use exercise as treatment, but:
✅ Physiotherapists (PTs) focus on rehabilitation after injury or surgery, pain management, and restoring movement.
✅ Exercise Physiologists (EPs) specialise in long-term exercise programs tailored to manage chronic health conditions like diabetes, arthritis, COPD, or heart disease.

Clients often begin with a PT and transition to an EP for continued support and conditioning.

💡 Example: After a knee replacement, your Physio helps you manage pain, reduce swelling, and gradually restore your ability to walk and climb stairs. Once you regain basic function, your EP designs a tailored exercise plan to rebuild strength, improve endurance, and maintain your mobility long-term, helping you stay independent and active well into the future.
