Merry Christmas 🎄


Yesterday we spent Christmas doing what matters most, sharing time together. There were smiles, laughter and moments of reflection that reminded us how special this community is.

We are so thankful for our residents, families, staff and volunteers who bring kindness and care into our home everyday. Christmas may be just one day, but the connection we share lasts well beyond it.

🎄💟 A Heart warming Christmas Surprise 💟🎄

Our residents were delighted to receive beautiful Christmas cards from class 3M at St Edwards Primary School. The cards have created a lovely display in our reception area and added an extra touch of Christmas cheer to our home.
The thoughtful messages and festive wishes have truly brought smiles and joy to our residents. 🎄🎄🎄
A big thankyou to the students and staff of St Edwards Primary School for spreading such kindness and Christmas spirit - it has meant so much to us all. 🎁🔔🎅

🎤🎼🎄☃ A busy and joyful Christmas Season 🤶🎅🏽🔔

We have certainly been busy over the Christmas period !! Over the past two weeks, our residents have enjoyed festive bus trips for Christmas shopping and Christmas Lights, visits to our in house cafe for cheerful Christmas sing-a-longs, and lots of fun Christmas craft activities.
These are just some of the wonderful moments shared as we celebrate the season together. It has been lovely to see so much laughter, creativity, and Christmas spirit throughout our home. 🎁⛄🎄

🎄✨ Christmas Lights Bus Trips ✨🎄

Over the past week, some of our residents enjoyed a lovely evening bus trip around town and out to Kootingal to admire the beautiful Christmas Lights. 🌟🎅🚌
There were plenty of smiles, festive cheer, and wonderful displays to see along the way. It was a relaxing and joyful way to get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy the magic of the season together. 💖🤶

Ho ho ho! It’s a week bursting with Christmas cheer, joy, and nonstop fun across Banksia and our community spaces! From gentle walks, chair exercises, and gardening to bingo, quizzes, games, crafts, and soothing hand-pampering, every day is filled with activities to keep spirits bright and smiles shining. Add in sing-alongs, trivia, book chats, puzzles, and memory games, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for festive laughter and connection! 🎶🎲🧩🌿🎁😊

The excitement keeps rolling with movie screenings, golf and ball games, knitting and card groups, and plenty of Ashes Test cricket action for our sports fans. We’re also celebrating the season in style with Christmas parties, twinkling Christmas lights bus trips, joyful carols, and meaningful church services — bringing warmth, nostalgia, and holiday magic to everyone. 🎬⛳🧶🏏🎄✨🎶🚌

🎄Carol’s in the Courtyard 🎄

Last night’s Carols in the Courtyard was a wonderful celebration of music and togetherness. With the warm evening breeze, colourful summer skies, and the sound of voices joining in harmony, the courtyard came alive in the most uplifting way. Residents, families, and staff sang side by side, shared stories, and enjoyed a relaxed, festive atmosphere that felt uniquely summery. Thank you to everyone who brought their energy and enthusiasm—your presence made the night bright and unforgettable. 🎅❤️

🎅✨ Naughty Elf Steve’s Shenanigans! ✨🎄
Our festive visitor, Naughty Elf Steve, has been causing giggles and chaos all around the facility—and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

From serving the residents a “cuppa T” in his own unique way, to over-indulging in a little too much “wine” and needing a Panadol, to getting himself hopelessly tangled in tinsel while trying to help with decorations… Steve has certainly kept everyone entertained!

Each morning brings a new surprise, a new note, and a new laugh as residents discover where Steve has hidden himself next—and what kind of cheeky trouble he’s found.

Keep your eyes peeled… with Steve around, you never know what tomorrow’s mischief will bring! ❤️

Weekly Activities Program – A Festive Week of Fun, Activity & Christmas Cheer! 🎄

This week is filled with a wonderful variety of activities designed to keep everyone moving, creating, laughing, and enjoying the festive season together. Each day offers something special—from gentle exercises and gardening to bingo, trivia, music entertainment, craft sessions, and movie afternoons.

Our Christmas spirit is in full swing with decorations, knitting and card-making groups, Christmas craft workshops, and special outings including shopping trips and Christmas lights viewing. Residents can also look forward to regular favourites such as ice-cream trolley visits, hand pampering, book readings, puzzles, memory games, and lively sing-alongs.

For those who love to stay active, we have daily exercise sessions, chair exercises, balloon games, walking groups, golf, and parachute play. Creative activities like painting, colouring, cooking, and sewing add even more variety throughout the week.

And don’t forget — our Naughty Elf is on the loose!
Keep an eye out for this cheeky visitor as you move around the facility. You never know where the Naughty Elf might pop up next, spreading mischief and Christmas joy!

🌞🚌 Mystery Bus Trip for our MSU 🎤🎼

Our MSU enjoyed a wonderful Mystery Drive this afternoon. There was beautiful scenery, ice cream and lots of singing.
