🌸 Crafting Joy & Looking Forward to Spring 🌸

Our Memory Support residents got creative this week during craft time! Using crepe paper, cotton balls, and a variety of colorful materials, they designed a beautiful handmade “garden” that will brighten up our wall. 🌼🌿

This fun activity brought smiles, sparked memories, and helped us all look forward to the joys of spring. Afterward, we took a stroll outside to pick fresh lavender from our real garden—filling the air (and our hearts) with its calming scent. 💜

It was a wonderful day of creativity, connection, and seasonal spirit!

🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You 🌟

We were absolutely delighted to receive a generous donation of hand-knitted and crocheted knee rugs, lovingly made by the talented ladies at the Quirindi CWA and our very own Tamworth Community Aged Care Knitting Group. 💖🧶

Our residents – and their families – were overjoyed to receive these beautiful, cozy blankets. Each piece was made with such care, and it truly shows. It's gestures like these that bring warmth not just to the body, but to the heart.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to knit, crochet, and piece these gorgeous rugs together. Your kindness and creativity are deeply appreciated.

🎄 Christmas in July at Tamworth Community Aged Care 🎅✨

Today we brought a little festive cheer to winter with our Christmas in July celebrations! ❄️☀️

Residents enjoyed a delicious morning tea and special Christmas lunch, followed by a lovely walk in the sunshine—complete with cheerful singing along the way. 🌞🎶

The joy continued into the afternoon with a heartwarming sing-along session, featuring both Christmas carols and classic favourites. The sound of music and laughter filled the air! ❤️🎵

We were also delighted to welcome some special visitors, who joined their loved ones for lunch and shared in the joy of the day. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💕

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable for our residents. Moments like these truly warm the heart. 💖

At For Purpose Aged Care, we know that regular exercise is a vital part of healthy ageing and our residents are loving our activity programs. We offer a wide variety of daily exercise.

Options like chair yoga, Zumba, physio led exercises, seated soccer, balloon tennis and strength classes. Residents particularly enjoy morning walking group, whether it’s sunny or a crisp winter morning in VIC/NSW,
our residents love starting their day with fresh air, movement, and great company.

This morning, our creative residents got into the festive spirit by making beautiful peg Angels as part of our Christmas in July celebrations! Using pegs, beads, and string, they crafted charming little angels that are now proudly hanging on our Christmas tree. 🎨👼

There were smiles all around as everyone enjoyed the hands-on activity and festive atmosphere. Our tree looks extra special now, thanks to their lovely creations! 🌟

🎨 NAIDOC Week Celebrations at Tamworth Community Aged Care ! 🖌️

This week, our aged residents had the joy of creating beautiful pieces of Indigenous Australian Art as part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations. The activity was a meaningful way to honour and reflect on the rich culture, history, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteer Sandy and her daughter Amy for guiding this creative session with such passion and care. Your time, energy, and talent made this a truly special experience for everyone involved. 💛

Our residents have had a truly creative and colourful month! For June, we showcase a beautiful display of their craft and activities — and what a joy it’s been to see.

🧡 Residents crafted traditional Swedish Hearts
🦋 Painted butterfly-themed tote bags
🚌 Enjoyed scenic bus trips for morning teas
🎨 And created stunning artworks that will be entered into the Nazareth House Art Competition!

🇺🇸 4th of July Celebrations at Tamworth Community Aged Care ! 🎆

Today, we came together to celebrate Independence Day – recognising the enduring values of freedom, unity, and multiculturalism that connect us all. This day also reminds us of our strong historical ties with the United States.

Our residents enjoyed a classic All-American lunch featuring hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and a delicious apple and rhubarb pie for dessert. 🥧🍔🌭

To add to the fun, there were prizes for the best dressed in each area – and the creativity on display was amazing! 🎉
