Generational trauma doesn't always come crashing in with violence or chaos. Sometimes, it sneaks in quietly, lurking in the silence, hiding in avoidance, tucked away in the phrase, "we don’t talk about that." It lives in nervous systems that have never learned what safety feels like and in families that survived by suppressing pain rather than healing it.
Then, one day, someone in the lineage begins to feel everything, they are known as the cycle-breaker, the sensitive soul, the questioner of old patterns, the one who becomes exhausted carrying pains that weren’t even theirs to carry.
Healing begins the moment someone chooses awareness over denial, not to blame the past but to stop the cycle from repeating.
Because unhealed pain can travel through generations until finally, someone boldly declares, "This pain stops with me."
