South West Pilates is a fitness based pilates currently based in Terang and Camperdown. Pilates is a low impact exercise that helps increase your core strength, assists correcting muscle imbalances, promotes good posture, fosters relaxation and provides an all over body workout. Pilates is a great complimentary exercise to other sports such as netball, football, swimming, running, cycling and golf. Your instructor:
I (Rachael) am a pilates instructor from the UK who has been teaching for a year in South West Victoria. I started practising pilates (clinical based) 6 years ago, after I sustained a chronic back injury. Today I still manage my back injury through a number of ways including pilates and believe I'm a testament to how fantastic pilates is. Through my rehabilitation I realised the benefits and importance of pilates to providing core strength. To date I've avoided back surgery for 5 years and I believe it is through the use of pilates (in combination with fantastic physios, chiros, myotherapists and massage therapists to name but a few). However I try not be complacent about my back injury and now cherish every day I live without back and sciatic pain. Please note South West Pilates is not a clinical or rehabilitation based pilates.
