The face behind the name!

I’m Tahlia, director of Inner You Health and Wellness.

I’m an occupational therapist and support worker, but also a human who is compassionate, caring and kind. I love supporting people to live a meaningful life and will always implement a holistic lens into my work.

I enjoy absolutely everything about being in the great outdoors and thrive when in nature and moving my body with purpose!

I love travel, camping and exploring all of the beautiful things this world has to offer.

I enjoy learning from the people around me and always look for opportunities in my daily life that can assist my own growth. I also enjoy helping people to do the same.

I love the little moments in life and finding gratitude in the mundanity that life can be.

🌱WALKING TO WELLNESS🌱

A mindful walking group is coming to the central coast!

DETAILS:
Time: 9-10am
Date: Tuesdays, weekly. Commencing the 14th November 2023.
Location: North Avoca Public Reserve - end of tramway road (near lake st).
Cost: $0

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Within the one hour I will guide all attendees through mindfulness and occupation based strategies in a supportive, gradual and informal/casual manner. Sessions may include the use of and opportunity to practice:
• Body scans
• Guided imagery
• Interoception based yoga practices
• Mindful movement
• Tuning into present moment experiences
• Learn and practice diaphragmatic breathing techniques / breathing exercises
• Heath education, guided by the interest of attendees
• Opportunity for self-reflection

AIM:
• Take a break from the mental chatter of the mind
• Immerse yourself in the healing state of nature
• Consciously tune into your breath
• Return your focus to the present moment
• Have intentional exploration of your senses
• Increase your awareness of mind-body connections
• Explore different mindfulness strategies
• Improve physical health, including cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength and flexibility
• Expand on your social participation by meeting likeminded people
• Develop a sense of community and belonging
• Expand on leisure occupations
• Improve emotional and sensory self-regulation skills
• Begin to form healthy habits

MEMBERS:
This is a group welcome to anyone who has the physical capabilities to walk approximately 1km or greater on uneven terrain.
Attendees are welcome to come on their own or with a support person (e.g. mentor, support worker, family member, friend).

Exciting news!

A free mindfulness based bushwalking group is coming to the central coast!

“Walking to Wellness” is a safe, supportive and welcoming walking group.

It is a volunteer led group guided by Tahlia our Director/Occupational Therapist.

The aim for the group is to help you:
~ Take a break from the mental chatter of the mind
~ Immerse yourself in the healing state of nature
~ Tune into present moment experiences
~ Increase your mind-body connections
~ Explore alternative mindfulness strategies
~ Develop a sense of community and belonging
~ Improve sensory and emotional regulation
~ Begin to form healthy habits
