It has been a fantastic experience attending the sensory tourism conference hosted by on the central coast this weekend! Cocky guides is a social enterprise that specialises in providing unique, multi-sensory adventures in small groups for the blind and low-vision community. Programs like this are crucial to empower individuals to actively participate in social and tourism events, catering for their specific needs.
This conference has significant importance to the founder of Advocate & Empower (Jack) due to his own visual impairment as he is well acquainted with the challenges and needs that visually impaired people require. Jack and his Technical Liaison Officer, Nick have made the trip to the central coast to further broaden their knowledge, aspiring to deliver a progressive, tailored service to all new and existing clients!!!

It was a pleasure 6 weeks ago to be able to sponsor our SES volunteers and acknowledge all the hard work they do to ensure we can go on living our daily lives as much as possible. In Victoria it was apparent how much we rely on them yesterday in the extreme weather conditions we were all faced with. Whether that be power outages to having property destroyed the SES are the people we turn to in our moment of need. So having the opportunity to contribute to empowering them to do this was great, as one of our core values as an organisation is allowing everyone to lead a fulfilling, rewarding life.
