This beautiful girl has finished her last exam today! Woohoo. πŸ₯³.
If you are wondering where I have been, as I’ve been pretty quiet on socials, I have been supporting her both emotionally and practically as family always comes first for me. 🧑.
This has not been an easy ride but I could not be prouder of her resilience and commitment to working hard.
She now takes a year off to think about what comes next (whilst getting a job and doing some travelling!) 😜. And we can all breathe 🀩πŸ₯°.

I’m a bit late posting about World Breastfeeding Week due to being focused on Year 12 HSC Trials! Family comes first πŸ˜‰
However I didn’t want it to go by without acknowledging this very important week. The theme is β€˜Closing the gap- Breastfeeding support for all’. There have been strides made towards this but there is still a way to go.
*Closing the gap means all health professionals receive initial and ongoing PD in breastfeeding to ensure equitable help for all, not a hit and miss system.
*Closing the gap means ensuring that mums breastfeeding goals are heard, honoured and supported in hospitals in the labour room and postnatal wards. That mums are now leaving hospital on unsustainable triple feeding plans that leave them exhausted and with little time to rest and enjoy their babies.
*Closing the gap means adequate funding into antenatal breastfeeding information programs for parents to be to learn what they need to know before having their baby!
*Closing the gap means that all employers know and understand their responsibilities and the law to support mums returning to work who want to continue to breastfeed.
*Closing the gap means equitable support across all cultures and especially our indigenous peoples. This means training and funding for workers who support this families both in metro and rural and remote areas.

Whilst much has been done there is still a long way to go and this is why this week is important to raise awareness in. Long term health and the environment are two other good reasons as well. 🧑

Happy Mothers Day! Especially to the first time mummas or clients who have just had a baby. πŸ’•πŸ’•

I LOVE being a mum to these gorgeous girls. They are so much fun, we have amazing conversations, are kind and thoughtful, and yes they can be challenging and frustrating sometimes. But can’t we all. 😜. But wow Roc and I are so happy we have got to parent and love them. They are the best. πŸ’œ

And for all the women who haven’t got biological kids but are spiritual mummas to others kids. You are seen and needed. You are wonderful and treasured. 😘

Always a bittersweet moment when I finish up with a family. And this one was such a lovely one to work with πŸ’œ

Supporting Louise after the birth of her second son was a real privilege. We worked on establishing breastfeeding, letting her sleep while holding the baby, supporting her and the family with food and other resources, helping build her face to face and online village of support, attending an appointment with her, bathing the baby, helping around the home in small practical ways and playing with her eldest son. And having time to laugh about the highs and lows of parenting. ☺️

Although face to face has ended I still provide support virtually for a few months afterwards. I will miss seeing this lovely family, they were a joy to work with. πŸ’• Thank you πŸ’œ
