A simple thing to do. Watching water. Enjoying its delicate beauty and the play of light within its molecules. A life sustaining force of body and mind.

I am wind on ocean.
I am roar of sea.
I am swelling wave.

Easkey Britton perfectly explains the connection between humans and the ocean.

My practice centres on that connection to nature in all of its forms, if you will, a cultural bridge to nature. It’s no longer radical. It’s non denominational. It’s accessible. We need it more than ever, our hearts and souls need it to thrive, and nature needs us. 🌱

Thank you AASW Queensland and Toowoomba sub branch - a beautiful gift for my participation and exhibition in World Social Work Day event on March 16-17 titled ‘Co-building hope and harmony: an harambee call to unite a divided society’.
A gift that will keep giving is Brené Brown’s Atlas of the Heart.

A kitty enjoying some soothing voices during mindful photography sessions. The beast can be slayed. Does your beast need slaying? 🐲😉

I had so many words for this but none of them seem right. And you know what? that’s ok. Sometimes we just need to be a nosy parker on nature. I call it 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦. A very grounding thing to do. Nothing special needed, I used my mobile phone.

Technology can be used for improving our lives, why not use it!
Happy Monday - catch you during the week 🌞😁

This is Scottie.

Oh… my…gaaawd. Those eyes would melt a hard old soul like a raspberry sorbet in the sun.

Animal photography is sooooo underrated for its joy-bringing capacity. Animals love the attention (mostly - unless you’ve got a crusty old kitty who’s sick of everyone’s crap), and humans benefit from their loving gaze.

It’s the experience more than the outcome, but just sometimes that joy just comes through in a photograph.

I’m a recovery coach, lived experience. Currently practising. This is one tool. No bs, no fluff, these tools work. ☀️

The reason why we want to squeeze cute things is because when we're feeling overwhelmed by positive emotions we use a little bit of aggression to helps us balance out that high.

I suspect that this is an under-researched area in the autism spectrum. Among other things it’s simply fascinating.

I felt this way when I photographed these two sweet quokka at the wonderful wildlife park.

Let’s talk birds…

Just watch them. That’s all. You want pure calm? Watch a pelican preen, they are both gawky and elegant at the same time. I sure do feel at home 😬🤣

I sat for about half hour watching this one and it’s two mates just chill. It’s nice. And relaxing. To observe the delicately placed pink tinged head feathers and how they perfectly match the pink of its its scooped beak. Contrasting with a gorgeous yellow eye colour it really is heaven for colour matching ones next decor revamp. Or outfit. 😉💛

Night one of the working with mindful photography course with Ruth Davey at Look again.

This one is 3am musings in my office / aka anything to stay awake.

It’s really about noticing and slowing down. And as you can see there’s so much to notice.

I have to tell you I don’t know if I could’ve been any slower at that point I’m sure my heart rate would’ve been about 45 bpm. 🙏🤣

Im obviously attracted to colour, contrasts, patterns and circles.

Remarkable Rocks, Kangaroo Island.

They really are that remarkable. Not simple to convey the proportional size of these beauties here but maybe several humans high will be close This is a thin place for me (meaning spiritually close). I guess I wouldn’t have been the only one. That doesn’t necessarily mean it was comfortable, but it was profound. From an artistic and sensory perspective it was mind altering.

Salvador Dali eat your heart out. It looks very much like the ‘Birth of liquid desires’. Very very cool. But a place one could loose their marbles if staying too long (pardon the pun) 😂

Keep moving forward and stay strong x
