💙 Meet Grace, one of the bright and compassionate hearts of our Blue Kite team 🌼

Grace has been working in the disability sector since she was just 17, and to this day, she says her favourite part of being a support worker is helping participants achieve their goals and grow into the best version of themselves, no matter where their journey begins.

“There’s nothing better than seeing their smile after achieving something they once found challenging or overwhelming.”

Grace brings warmth, energy, and a genuine love for all kinds of activities. Whether it’s gardening, caring for animals, cooking, visiting the markets or movies, or heading out on a spontaneous adventure, Grace is there with enthusiasm and heart.

Outside of work, Grace is just as generous. She’s currently growing her hair to donate it at the end of the year to the Kids with Cancer Foundation, where it will be used to create a wig for a child in need 💇‍♀️💖

When we asked her what being part of the Blue Kite team means, she shared:

“I love being part of the Blue Kite team because they foster a sense of belonging and have a strong support system in place for both their staff and participants.” 💙💛

Kate’s kitchen was filled with love (and the sweet smell of caramel!) as she, her support worker, and her daughter whipped up a tray of homemade goodies for her church fete 💜

From lemon slice to caramel popcorn, each treat was made with care, and Kate was glowing with pride as she packed them up to share with the community 🍋🍿

There’s something special about doing what you love, especially when you get to do it with the people who make life sweeter 🪁

💙 Meet Jackie, one of the quiet powerhouses on our Blue Kite team 🪁

With a background in childcare and a heart for helping others, Jackie brings patience, warmth and a calming presence to every shift. She loves making a positive impact in someone’s day, whether it’s helping a participant achieve a goal, sharing a laugh, or simply being there to listen. For Jackie, building real, trusting relationships is what makes this work so meaningful.

Outside of work, Jackie finds joy in the simple things like walking her dogs, trying new recipes or getting completely absorbed in a good book.

She enjoys doing a variety of activities with participants, especially when it helps build confidence and connection. Whether it’s getting out in the community, doing crafts, playing a board game or just celebrating small wins, Jackie shows up wholeheartedly.

When we asked her what being part of Blue Kite means to her, she said:
“Having the privilege to support others on their journey, while knowing I have a strong, supportive, caring team behind me.”
