Last week Abby and her daughter Lyla checked out Queensland Museum Cobb+Co and went through the bug exhibition and even learnt a thing or two about bugs eyes!

Did you know some flies have 360 degree vision, compared to humans who only have about 180 degrees.

So you could say they have eyes in the back of their heads!

Last week, Lauren and her family went to Brisbane for the 3rd Congress of the Asia-Pacific Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology Society. Lauren learned about all things kids’ vision and eye health and particularly enjoyed the lectures on the latest developments in managing myopia (the biggest threat to kids’ vision and long term eye health, globally).

Lauren also managed to fit in some fun family time visiting Suncorp Stadium to watch the Broncos take on the Warriors (and win!) 🏉

Always great to catch up with colleagues from around Australia and the rest of the world at conferences 😊 Was a great 4 days!

Abby and her family travelled from Toowoomba to Sydney last weekend for trade show.

She got to see some new frame brands, refresh frame stock, ordered a new biodegradable Sunglass range that we can’t wait to receive, buy new equipment, talk about glasses recycling systems, use her toddler as a model (isn’t she the cutest!).

Great to catch up with friends, suppliers and learn about new equipment.
They also had some lovely family time at Darling Harbour at the aquarium.

It’s been 12 months since our rebrand to LA Optical.
We have made other improvements to our testing equipment and services since then.
What will the next 12 months bring?!

Today is National Sunglasses Day, celebrating the importance of wearing ultraviolet (UV)-protective sunwear and eyewear. Abby and her family are in Sydney for a Trade Show called ODMA, and while it’s very chilly, it’s still very important to wear sunglasses outside!

Alan retired one year ago, has moved to Canberra, but came in to visit today while he’s in town!
He is enjoying his retirement, and is only missing the Toowoomba weather a little bit!
