My passions straight out of school were animal health and welfare which seen me gain my veterinary nursing qualification’s, and continued on this journey for over 10 years, specialising in horses and running my own dog obedience school and grooming business. In 2006 I was given an opportunity to run a family Building company, a complete change in career. Within a 3 year period we built up a very s
uccessful building company with my parents. I have been honoured to be awarded accolades of rising star, women in building and construction and the company went on to have 10 years of stand out construction success with multiple building awards with in the industry. After starting the career change, getting married, I embarked on a new journey into Kyokushin Karate, it was in 2008 at the Townsville Dojo. Karate has taught me just because you were once a victim of domestic violence you don’t have to continue to be a victim, this journey has shown me what it takes to be a strong women in all areas of our life. The journey has not been plain sailing and I have had to overcome injuries, illness along with being a mum and wife and running a business, there were times I had no idea how I managed this, but I certainly did! Since my time at the Townsville Dojo my dedication, and determination in my training, has seen me achieve multiple QLD state championships, multiple Victorian titles, multiple Australian Titles and 3rd place in the World Titles (similar to the Olympics, only held every 4 years). When all seemed to be going well the BIG 40 came and I started wondering am I truly where I want or need to be? I found that my current life’s circumstances turned upside down. My position at the building company was to end as we decided to close the doors, my personal karate life went on hold after breaking my left ankle and tearing the right one to bits, I was out of action for over 8 months, I could no longer train, and had no idea if I could return, I felt helpless having to rely on other people to get around. I felt like I had lost my way of life as I knew it. But what I discovered was it was the opportunity to start looking in to what I really wanted, what are my core values and my core beliefs. This was the start of my personal development journey. November 2016, at the age of 41, after my broken ankle I became a registered Qualified Black belt in Kyokushin Karate, with the IKO (International Karate Organisation) in Japan. It became apparent to me that over the last couple of years, that health and wellness has always played a huge role in my life and the more I learnt about myself, the more I was able to help correct some of my problems, understand what was happening, and to improve the prognosis of some of my injuries.
2020 has been a year that will go down in history and with the changing world in which we live in it was time for me to go back into business for myself and to empower women with the skills I have learnt along the way. This is when Integrated Health and Wellness Solutions was born. Everything we do in life is intertwined, its time to work out the best solution for you, to be YOUR best version.
