Small Grant, Big Heart: Community, Government and Local Business Partner to Strengthen Volunteer Safety 🙌🏼

Recently, VNQ was successful in securing a $2,500 Volunteer Grant through the Federal Government’s Volunteer Grants Program, supported by Phillip Thompson OAM MP, Federal Member for Herbert. The funding contributes to strengthening volunteer capability and improving community safety outcomes.

Townsville small business owner James Overall, from Overall Health Care, partnered with us to ensure we secured a defibrillator after our original fell through, delivering a vital long-term safety solution for volunteers, staff and the broader community. In addition doubled the amount of First Aid Training offered, which enabled VNQ to host 2 sessions for our Volunteers.

PUAEME008 Provide Pain Management covers the skills and knowledge required to administer restricted analgesics (Methoxyflurane) to provide pain management as part of a medically supervised first responder organisation.

This course includes identifying the need for analgesia; accessing, preparing and administering restricted pain relief such as analgesics according to medically endorsed protocols; performing casualty handovers and completing analgesic use requirements.
