Fruit loaf, large table loaf, spelt loaf, whole wheat loaf, multigrain loaf, baguette, 30-bun wheel, cinnamon bun, cardomum bun, olive fougasse, ginger spice cookie, choc chip cookie, fennel palmier, mini rolls, Korean chilli scroll, jalapeño cheese bagel, seeded bagel, sunflower rye loaf, ciabatta etc

We are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and 2nd January. All other days fresh bread delivered to outlets through January. Farm shop/bakery open Thursday to Sunday in January but also open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday for the rest of 2025.

Asmara purple wheat. Cleaning and grading for next year’s seed and for milling. Purple wheat has high anthocyanin in the pericarp layer of the bran. Blue in the aleurone layer and black in both. We are growing several purple lines, a couple of blue lines and an unsegregated blend of various colours - blue, purple, brown, white, red - all together in the one field. Looking for ways to tasting it soon. We’ve a few seed cleaners. This one is Ukrainian and just uses air/a fan and gradations resulting from the different weight and size of the seed. The largest seed we hold back for re-sowing and for the mill/bakery.

Barrymore wine !! Anyone who has been to knows that beyond the wheat and barley we are surround by vineyards and wineries - we are next to , across the road is and at the end of Tuerong Rd is . We also have an 8ha vineyard here too, on your right as you come up to the mill and bakery, including Pinot noir (667, MV6, G5V15), Chardonnay (Mendoza) and Pinot Gris. My folks established the vineyard in 1998 and built a lovely winery here soon after, making some great wine people still ask us about today, under both Barrymore Estate and Tuerong Station labels. A decade of that and Peter was keen to do other things and I wasn’t much interested in the wine industry - had I been we would not have started growing grain and milling flour years later. For sometime next door has been leasing our vineyard and making award-winning wine from the grapes. Last year we revived the Barrymore label, with the wine made next door rather than here. Along with the beer from Sea Otter barley it’s available Thursday to Sunday.

Saturday 25 October 2025 crop walk and talk, with lunch and guests Estonian rye researcher and Swedish baker Join us for a walk through the wheat, rye and barley, take a look at this years milling crops, the bulk-up varieties and the mill and bakery. Eat lunch and listen to Laura Valli and Robin Ridell on their cultural connection and love for rye and what they have been doing in the grain world. Should be a great day out. Bookings essential. ! Great couple of days among maltsters, brewers, distillers, bakers and farmers . Learnt a lot and saw some amazing operations big and small , and met some crafts people doing wonderful things all over Australia. On the way up got to see (founded by my old colleague Matt Shurgold) Chris and Sam and Morgan and Tom at Four Farmers distillery, a repurposed ethanol plant doing big things under a big Riverina sky. Good to hear from Maffra’s drip rock distillery and taste their wares, connect in person with Michael , Evan and Silvia, Tim and Dave and hear from various experts in their fields on business, sensory assessment and, as always, diversity. Also enjoyed on the history of Australian Distilling and .life Big thanks to the major sponsors and of course Stu and Brad for putting it all on. I got the chance to speak about and our various efforts and challenges with a variety of grains from the back catalogue. And always great to hear from .sicard John . It’s always the people that make it.

Rye researcher and social anthropologist Laura Valli will be 25 October (crop walk and presentation) and 26 October (rye workshop with ) Laura has long been my go-to rye expert for knowledge on varieties and applications and other rye talk, whether growing, baking or distilling, or considering the culture and history of this wonderful crop we should all really be growing and eating more. Indeed, there is a bit of rye supply issue at the moment in Australia, despite it being highly suited to much of our soil and the premium it fetches for farmers . Laura’s interest in rye is far-reaching and covers its nutrition, digestion, flavour and agronomy as well as humanity’ role in the success of rye from early times until now. Great to see our bakers here and at home loving fresh-milled rye - may that long continue and keep the rye alive ! Can’t wait to have Laura here talking all things rye very soon. This year we have grown a spring rye, an old Scandinavian winter rye and a Perennial rye. One is already in head - the others are taking their time.
